Thank you so much😘, the zoom in is the only way I can get you guys close enough to see what’s happening because my cameras has to be far enough back to get the whole picture in if you know what I mean. I’m glad you like it, it does take a lot of extra editing on my part though, but hey, getting comments like this makes it worthwhile. thank you.
Absolutely beautiful Louise...I think you found your thing! Looks just like a snowy day in Ashville! Gorgeous! I love pearls pours...you nailed this one!
Wow, Michele! 😘Well, there’s been no shortage of me watching you too, especially during my “pearl” phase when I was first starting out a couple years ago. But I drifted away from this technique, because I fell in love with the bloom too! Now, I’m back to my original love, hopefully going to be splitting time between both. Thank you so much for being here. Your comment means so much to me.🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Thank you so much Vicki😘, I need a refresh myself on how these enamel reacts with the paints and which paints I can count on to stay. I need to be a lot more aggressive with the pallet knife too, you’ll see.😃
I look forward to more of your pearls. Fantastic painting, especially given that it was your first go in a long time. Goes to show that the intuitive experience you have learned from your other techniques has supported your efforts in this beautiful pearl painting. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Ruth, 😘and you’re absolutely right. Even though I may have been journeying in other directions, the experience gained there has helped me out here. I always have said the same thing being an athlete… that playing multiple sports learning multiple skills help translate into all improvement. Thank you so much and I appreciate your observation.🧡🧡
Thank you, Jan😘, I’ve had paint sitting on the shelf, mixed up for a couple months, waiting for me to finally get to it. You’re going to see more of these for sure.!🧡
Absolutely a work of art, Louise, c'est magnifique, mi amica bella. Your short videos would definitely perform well in movie theaters before the movie starts.
I have been trying to find a recipe for clouds FOREVER ! Now everyone (fluid artists) are making "classes" that you have to pay for !! I don't have over $100 to find out their processes. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I will save your video and refer to it when I attempt clouds! Thank you again!!
I guess I’m not that opportunistic and probably will not be liked by those that make classes (which I know takes time and effort) my attitude has always been and I have no problem sharing anything, at the end of the day the artist has to put the paint and recipes into practice with their own hands, so I can show you all day like leading a horse to water, but the artist has to drink on their own. So I don’t mind sharing and I really appreciate when others are open and transparent with me. It’s all about the art and creating to me. Some will get it and some never will.
Wow, Janja, 😘thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment. I really try to make my videos as instructional, to the point and brief as possible, so thank you!❄️
Aw, Garrick😘 thank you so much for your comment. Hopefully this will be more than a mini series. Lol, now I have to split my time between loves, but whoa is me.😅 terrible dilemmas, where will the ring pour fit in lol. And as you know, I have other things planned too.😘
Thank you, Dee😘 definitely a change from what I’m used to for sure. Just need to learn how to harness this runny stuff and make some really pretty things going forward lol.😅
Thank you so much, 😊 Brenda. Yes not having done this technique in a while. I had to do the drip test until I get comfortable with consistencies. Thank you for being here and leaving your thoughts!
Thank you Macska, 😘😘I did it out of necessity, and I figured if I needed it then it’s worthwhile keeping in so that you all can see it too. Not being familiar with a technique in a long time. I needed to do this to verify that my pain were consistent. Thank you so much for subscribing, and I hope to continue earning your viewership.!🧡🧡
Loved this. You’ve inspired me to give this technique another try too. And to go and devour Sarah’s channel. I love her work also so thanks for the inspiration
Gorgeous results Louise! I really like this video because it's so easy to see the results you get all along the way! Love @Sara Taylor, her style of art is so challenging and lovely! Hope to see you pour more of these! You nailed this!
Thank you Jennifer😘, yes I need to get back in the saddle on these and play with the formula and colors to get the results that are best to my eye! You’ll see more fire sure!!🧡
Ohhhh way Cool! I was so glad to see you didn't lose more color after it dried! And yes being comfortable with your sculpting knife is soooo important..... I'm not quite there yet but getting better each time!! Lovely piece of art Louise! ❤
Thank you so much, 😊 Jen, yes, the only way to get comfortable is to do. Watching other people doesn’t help with that you have to do.! Thank you so much for for being here and leaving your thoughts and your support!
It is so cool how the fractal like “roots” reach out and the overall composition is just beautiful! Looking forward to more. Enjoy your snowy Asheville. Ours is about to melt off after a week of Antarctic freeze.
Thank you Pamela, 😘try this recipe. It’s an oldie, but it works. You don’t need to go around switching things up just for the sake of change, use what works.!
Thank you, Susan, 😘😘yeah, I just used Sara’s old recipe from a couple years ago and it works. Everybody wants to try something new and change what it’s working for the sake of change but, this recipe works!
You may not be an expert at this, Louise. But, you play one well on TV! (can't recall what show that was a commercial for, years ago) Enjoyed seeing the roots shooting out under your guidance. Beautiful Cloud Pearl Pour!
Thank you so much 😊 David and Kathy, I can’t remember that commercial either but I do remember one like that. And those roots came out on their own. It is a function of the recipe and probably something I did wrong lol. I’ll be doing more of these for sure. And congratulations on 20,000, man you’re on fire I don’t know how you’re doing it.🔥
Louise, I can not get pearls. No matter what. But watching you, I am going to play this video will giving it another try. You explanation was clear and your end result a beauty.
Thank you Betty, 😘well, give the recipe a go, it works, just gotta make sure you get your paints really really really thin. Did I say thin? Really thin! Completely different from ring pours or bloom. I was hoping the pearls would slow down, but they kept on coming which means I’ve got to work on my paints to help them get more substantial or pick different paints that will hold up better to the satin enamel. I love the pearls, but I don’t wanna lose all my color, as it constant balance with this technique.
Thank you, Linda😘, and I’m with you I do like pearls, but I like them in reasonable portions lol. That is the danger and the beauty of this technique, and the balance of getting the right amount of pearls and keeping the right amount of color in the composition. it just takes practice. I’ve gotta keep feeling this out and get the paint that are gonna work right in the right percentage of setting enamel to get the right amount of pearls! You’ll be seeing more of this for sure I love this technique
I really like the zoom feature of your camera! Finally I can actually see what the consistency looks like! Also, great instructions for mixing the paints. I was never very successful at pearl pours, but I think I will give it a try again. I just subscribed!
Gorgeous, gorgeous - and realistic dimension on the pearls! I! wish I understood the chemistry behind the paint actions … best to just suspend disbelief and go along for the ride.
Thank you Heidi🧡🧡, I’m with you with wishing I could understand the chemistry and why satin enamel consumes other acrylics, but I’m not a chemist I’m just playing in its world. I forgot how much I love this technique and will be doing more for sure. Thank you for your support.😘
I’m sure you’ve made Sara VERY proud! This one turned out gorgeous Louise!! This is still my all time most favorite technique to do…or at least tied with the straight galaxy pour! Quick question: How did you end up scoring a bottle of the original FLOW Artist Loft? I’ve been searching everywhere to try to buy any that anyone happens to be selling but can’t find it on any sights! If you happen to have extras that you’re looking to sell, I’d LOVE to buy it from you!! I have about 1/2 bottle left that I’ve been treating like liquid gold.😂❤ Beautiful job my friend!!🤗💕
Thank you Tressie, 🎋yes, it’s that’s how long it’s been since I’ve done one of these, that’s why I have artist loft flow paint from 2021. I only have a couple so I don’t have any to spare really. And yes, I can’t believe how much I’ve missed this technique without even knowing it until I got down to doing it again, boy I love this it’s so relaxing.
@@LouiseMcKayArt I do not blame you one bit…Girl, hold onto those bottles tightly bc that FLOW is magic! Haha! I feel the exact same way about this technique! Every time I do one, I’m like, “why don’t I do these more?!” Keep doing them because you really do have the knack for them!! 🤗💕
@@TreesieParadisArt awe thank you. I just gotta get the recipes where I want them to be to give me the right amount of pearls and leave me the right amount of color.!!
Thank you Laura, it’s actually three large mats that I purchased from Walmart. In the baking section, their silicone mats and I have four in fact and when they’re all together they really work nicely easy to clean too. I think I paid like five dollars each for them.
Beautiful! I don't want to exasperate you but as to the parts in the recipe: are you doing by volume or by weight? I'm guessing that the Behr is denser (?) than the Floetrol.
Hi Louise, Nice to meet you! I'm new to this art form and loved your video. Even more, I loved that you said hello from Asheville. Do you ever host a class? Kathleen
Hi Kathleen, and welcome. This is a fantastic art form, I’ve been doing it for just over three years. I live in Asheville, I did a class at the fluid art boutique in DC earlier this month, however, I’ve never done my own classes here yet. Are you nearby Asheville?
@@LouiseMcKayArt Thank you for responding! I live in Conway, SC. Asheville isn't too far for me. I would love to come to Asheville for a couple of days to learn in person. I've watched 10,000 videos and have poured a couple of large canvases. One of them I want to repour. I was so excited at first but the more I look at it the more I see wrong with it! Arggggg.
@@kathleensihrer913 thanks Kathleen, if I can give you any advice is to stay with one type of technique and start smaller to work up to something larger. You certainly can pour over canvases, I did a lot of work on tiles to begin with just to get the feel of the paint and consistency. And honestly, I’m not sure about a 1:1 class and if you’ve only done a couple canvases, I would encourage you to keep exploring and learning before committing to personal sessions, you can learn a lot thru your own creations, finding what works for you and your own style.
Hi Kathy, I I don’t know which PPG you may have, but it needs to be a satin enamel paint. So if it doesn’t say satin enamel, I don’t think it’s going to work. Honestly, I don’t know what is in the properties of the satin enamel that give the pearls, but chemistry wise I believe that’s where the pearls come from. And, of course, with anything, you don’t know until you try! You may find some other kind of reaction with it.
Hi Ann😘, if you check the video out, it shows, I think it was 21119E Apple barrel white matte. Honestly, this was the first time using this product in this base paint, but I knew that Sara had great results with it, and I bought that apple barrel paint almost 2 years ago and I figured I better start to use it😂. When I was first learning this cloud pearl two years ago, I did not have it, and still had really pretty pearls. But this worked right out of the gate with this results, so I’m gonna keep working with this, adjusting the recipe to get pearls/paint exactly the way I want them.
