So I have a body work question…. I watched all the Buick episodes and as a body man myself my question is back in the 80’s and 90’s when these guys skimmed the whole car did was it standard practice to level the filler with DA’s and orbital sanders? I always had it in my head these cars were lazer straight before paint.

No back in the day every car had an average of 3 gallons of body filler and the car were done just like we did the Buick. They were still pretty straight before paint. I did not cover all the work that Kerry did to the body after he got it to his shop - he spent weeks on it after I took it him

What are those screws called that hold the gauge panel to the dash? I'm making my car street legal so I'm building a longer gauge panel. Since I'm adding a speed-o and a fuel gauge I, for the life of me, can't remember the name of those screws I need to order.

Dzus fasteners

@@racecarfabricationrestoration I looked through all the Dzus brand fasteners I could find but couldn't find the small spring loaded Philips 1/4 turns. There was some oddball sounding name I cam across a while back that matched up, but I can't find the bookmark I made.

..and as luck would have it. I did 'one last search' and found them. ''Camloc'' was what I was thinking of.

The windshield is polycarbonate, lexan is just a brand name.

Yes that is correct - I refer to that in many of my other videos - it just like “coke” will be used for any kind of soft drink.
