btw, as someone who has a dissociative disorder, the post-it notes thing is EXTREMELY common with DID/OSDD. a lot of the time alters will do stuff like that for whatever reason, but I hope the person got help with whatever it is lol.

Listening on Apple Podcasts, and in regards to the story about the guy who was looking after his neighbors home, there was an update that the neighbors did contact him and told him they just weren’t planning on coming back. There was more after that, but ADHD brain cannot recall much else 😅

Yes they got attached to the dogs and just decided to adopt them and I believe the owners gave them another sum of money to cover any costs that had come up. Two Hot Takes did this story as well if anyone wanted to listen to their take as well.

The Subaru was a WRX from what they said at the beginning. It is a sports car, so it makes more sense that the manager took it for a joy ride. My husband has one so that is the only reason I know what it is lol.

omg y’all have got to do a glitch in the matrix episode literally had one with my partner the other day. There’s a strip we drive along to get to his college campus so we both know the businesses pretty well. Then all of a sudden one day we noticed a Starbucks was just randomly there. It looked like it had been airdropped in it was crazy. We both chalked it up to us being adhd but I still feel so weird about it, especially since we drive that road all the time and saw no construction, no building being built. It just was there one day.

You guys have to look at the update for the couple that disappeared!! Two Hot Takes read the original story and the update. What I remember what the couple eventually came back up and the neighbor was like what happened and they basically assumed he would assume they weren’t coming back. I don’t remember the rest but I’m pretty sure they assumed their neighbor would take care of rehoming their dogs and closing their house. It was a wild ending.

Pretty sure 2 hot takes covered the Canadian house one!!! The end of it was they just decided to stay in Taiwan permanently/long term and we’re assigned and didn’t keep in contact I think…. It was something bizarre like that 🤣

I think Kendall was referring to the McDonalds coffee lawsuit but that coffee actually was INSANELY hot and spilled on the woman giving her third degree burns through her pants iirc.

No I don't think they were mistaken, that coffee lawsuit was many years ago, but if I'm not mistaken, there was another recent incident involving chicken nuggets where this mom ordered a happy meal for her kid and the nuggets came sooo hot it hurt the kid (can't remember how seriously the kid was hurt though) and that's what they were referring to :)

All of the lawsuits that seem "frivolous" against large corporations were actually really serious cases, and the public only sees them as frivolous because the corporate PR teams made them look that way.

Yep in both cases they've found that the company keeps using certain unsafe methods to minimize time spent on sanitation, namely making food too hot for human consumption to prevent bacteria growth 😖 people keep getting hurt but it's more lucrative to take the lawsuit settlements than change their process

@@stateofcalmI know I’m 2 weeks late here but the child was 4 years old at the time of the incident, she picked up the chicken nugget, it was too hot for her to hold and she instinctually dropped it, she was in a car seat and the mom was leaving the drive thru so wasn’t able to assist her, the nugget ended up essentially pinned to her thigh until the mom could pull over and it left a nugget shaped second degree burn on her leg.

the house one is so odd! After investigating of course, I would have reported them missing after 2-3 months max. If it took the guy a year just to post on REDDIT, he (and his wife i think he mentioned) clearly didn't care enough about the well-being of the neighbors. btw I read some of the updates of the situation but still like both are in the wrong to me. don't leave your house and dogs behind for someone else to take care of. its just wrong and im pretty sure illegal AND plz plz report people missing if you don't hear from them cuz the possibilities of what could've happened to them would have worried me sick.

Whew, you guys talking about how different your life might've been if one thing changed - try being born on the cut off day for going into kindergarten (October 1, where I'm from). If I had been born one day earlier I would have been a grade ahead and my whole life would've been different, it weirds me out to think about. And I was born 2 weeks later than expected.

52:41 so I pet/house sit regularly and this story is WILD. If the people I was working for didn’t show up on the day they said they’d be back, and didn’t say anything to me, I’d give it 24 hours before I’m trying everything to contact them. 48 hours before I start Facebook stalking and contacting family/friends. If by then I have heard nothing, I’m getting the police involved at the one week mark. I can’t imagine a YEAR 😂

The Instacart shopper saying that they didn't have what I wanted but it was there in the picture happened to me too. I had to stop using Instacart, I ran into too many issues with them. The house sitter guy clearly didn't care enough about his neighbors to do anything. You're going to post on Reddit before calling the police, or doing anything and it had been a year! Not even mention anything to the vet about it not being his dog. I would've been calling someone after 2-3 months.

I’ve heard the Taiwan story on another podcast before and I’m pretty sure the people who were watching their pets and house went to crazy lengths to get in touch with them. When they finally did get in touch with them, I’m pretty sure the guy who went to Taiwan said “oh sorry, we decided to extend our stay” and like told them that he would take care of the house and that someone he knew would take care of the pets. I’m not 100% sure what he said but it’s strange that the post you read of that situation didn’t have the whole story.

No the car was running because it was hot out so she'd be in AC and was probably cool, but staying in a running car in a closed garage is likely to give you carbon monoxide poisoning
