Marcy Marcia Thanks, the tape looked like good idea but I’ve had the problem with gummy needles before, more trouble than it’s worth... WD-40 is good idea! Thanks again.
Thank you so much for the sewing hacks. My Mother is a professional Seamstress and I've learned so much from her when it came to hand stitching, embroidery and sewing using a machine. But your hacks made me see things done differently from what I am used to. God bless you for sharing everything. Take care! Stay safe and healthy!
5:39 life hack! Maybe don't use your sewing machine backwards too! I could be wrong, but using it the right way around might make this project easier! 😂
Half of what you are doing will destroy your sewing machines! Learn what each presser foot is for, and learn that there are different types if pins that you can use for your projects. Better yet, if you don’t want to do that, just take your items to a seamstress.
And never rip fabric the way they did..unless it’s some sort of fur. I know with fur you can do that with. Maybe some others you can too but still ugh. Never just rip fabric
Gotta love that quite a few of these were embroidery, done with embroidery thread or shadows the sam thing multiple times. This channel l is known for putting out false content so I was curious ho bad these fails would be. You can make bias tape with the pins of the ironing board, use a ladder stitch for ripped open seams and you can use a needle threader (not sure what it's called) to help get the thread through a needle (that was the one with the quarter. Why they used a quarter to hide the threaded I don't know). Please don't try most of this stuff. You'd only be wasting time and materials.
Those are great tips for repairing and making changes to garments and some of them I could use with older garments which I like and want to change to use again.
Don't sew through double sided tape, it'll leave residue on your needle making it stubborn and dull. You can find hem tape on amazon which is made for sticking knit fabric together before sewing or just keeping hems in place, for both woven or knit fabric.
Wow i just started sewing and i made my 1st jumper and also im 10 yrs old rn but i would like to say something will u plz go watch HABIBAPLAYZ plzz it would make my day if u did🥺🥺
8:32.... “Christmas Wreath” is it me being dumb or ... when you sew around the cardboard ring then cut the thread in half to give the wreath effect.... wouldn’t the string fall out???? It’s not sewn on anymore .... right?????
@@nolapark1159 yes that is a good idea - oh yes, thinking now, hair elastic is round is it? try buying the thicker round HAT elastic by the metre from fabric shops - Hi from South Africa :)
At min. 6:00, please, someone show that girl how to sew a zipper correctly! Glue is not quite a good idea, it will spread all over the needle and thread.
No. School Glue works and doesn’t gum up your needle. Also if you give it a it w a bit of warm iron to dry it ,it works even better and washes out easily.
@@lindathompson389 I really like a glue stick, I dont remember if she used liquid in this video. Quilt block points match soooo easy with the glue stick!!!
I know! There are several things in this video that I thought "there's already a product for that that works WAY better!" Including hem tape so you don't have to (but can) sew through at all!
The best thing to do is take some pliers and gently squeeze the slider tighter then it grips the teeth tighter. If it doesn't, it needs to be replaced, its easier to just pull it off from the bottom and thread a new on the teeth thats quicker than the fix theyre showing.
In 2020, was the “girly” part at the begining intro necessary ? My grandma used to have sewing classes, bu in 2020 a boy can sew, no ? Why participating in that sexist separation of areas ? It’s those little things that are unecessary. Might sound silly and a big deal out of “nothing” but I wanted to point it out.
Yes, exactly. It’s so stupid. Literally just say “here’s our lame sewing hacks that have a 30% chance of ruining your machine or your day” rather than racking “girly” on the beginning.
Ashlyn Wanderer For most of it (the hacks including a sewing machine) yeah, any professional seamstress would be like 🤦🏼♀️😂 But I think there’s still a few hacks that would be usable among all those videos.
