I love some of the foundry ranges, but yes the prices are hard to stomach, especially when translated into USD. It makes it very hard to pull the trigger on foundry orders. That said Foundry were my first historical minis and I feel loyalty to the company.
The price is in the eye of the beholder . Cost you nothing if purchased with money made. I really like the saying " I NEEDED them " I never correct wargamers for saying that, only children . Nice figures.
Not too many competitors in the ancients range. Victrix stands out but few others come close. Just got some Foundry figures today, ten days from being sent which given I'm on the other side of the world is pretty good. The bulk of 3d stuff I'm seeing for ancients is awful. Clunky figures, often historically inaccurate.
DJ, they are just way to pricy, luckily i made some good money on the figures i sold, without that i could not justify spending £108 on 8 packs, crazy prices...
Nice haul. I have always been a foundry fan boy but I'm afraid their cost is becoming prohibitive. Always more expensive than other brands as they were considered the best (at least by me) of available miniatures, I was prepared to pay more. Now with the Perry and say Victrix ranges (amongst others) I'm not convinced that claim holds true any longer. Throw in that postage to Oz is becoming more and more expensive (though still quite reasonable from the U.K. - W.T.F. is happening in the U.S. I've no idea) unless Foundry have a discount sale or I'm desperate to finish a collection I'm afraid my answer is "no". Understand they have a business to run, people to pay, mortgages/loans to repay, et.al., (not to mention Covid 19 effects and the rising cost of metal/resin etc.), but really? Perhaps the time has come to change their business model from "Sell a few at a high price" to "Sell a lot at a low price". Sorry, rant concluded. Look forward to seeing these painted up. Cheers
Tks, and you are not wrong, the sentiments you express are held by many of us. Foundry were the top of the game, but they have been declining for the past 20 years since they came back from Guernsey. Brians illness has not helped, and losing all of their designers, leaves them a rudderless ship. Diane tries her best but she is not Brian. I think they are down to a couple of employees at best. The Site has been closed for 2 to 3 years now, they spent a lot of money getting it ready to receive customers, parties, events, and then shelved all of that so you can't ever go and collect, even without the virus. It is a sad state of affairs for what was one of the premier wargames companies. As to the metal costs, i checked those out only a couple of months ago, and metal has not gone through the roof, in fact many types have declined in cost because of the virus, and the lack of need by manufacturers.
Very nice figures but £108 wow, the price of figuers do seem to be climbing, I've been looking at a 3d printer because 28mm is so expensive, more ancients, yaaah, all the best, Garry

Asked them why they charge vat to overseas customers no reply... Love their ranges and have quite a few from way back when they used to have the GBP80 free post and extra free packs.. I'm sure the company will find it more difficult when all these things come out in plastic unless they restructure their pricing. GBP14 for a chariot is ludicrous, 7sadly you can only buy them if you've had a windfall or some extra sell off like it was said in the vid.
£14.00 for eight figures seems extreme doesn't it? Particularly when you can buy very nice figures from Newline Designs that match Foundry in size and general look for £6.60 for six! I guess you are lucky that you didn't need chariots - you'd need to sell an organ or two to fund them. I used to buy a few packs from them at shows when the packs were discounted from £12.00 to a tenner - I think that when they were premium figures they could justify the higher prices but, given how many other companies there are that produce excellent models these days I don't think that argument stands up. It's not like they are producing any new ranges as far as I'm aware - just re-releasing stuff from 20 years and more ago.
@@hamsteronthepaintingtable6465 , i think things may not be as rosy as it would appear. Brian is seriously ill, Diane runs the business, nothing against Diane, but she is not Brian. They have no designers working for them producing new items. Their business has been closed to visitors i think maybe 3 years now, after they spent a lot of money getting it ready for customers to attend, spend money, have parties , games etc etc. As to staff, i understand there maybe one or two at best. such a shame, but all businesses have a life span..
