Just a brilliant video. Thank you for taking the time and care to produce this. You are spot on about the air brush mystique. Now with the Vallejo Air colors and low VOCs you can paint and not need to wear a hazmat suit.

Only just seen this video mate, brilliant! Did you spray the point work? Did it not cause issues with the frogs? Appreciate this was years ago but a fantastic video. 🎉

@@_RandomPea all of my frogs are wired in so they dont depend on the switch blade contact. I think I've got a video somewhere showing how I wore points but I'll probably make a new one at some point in the future.

I just bought an airbrush and used it for the first time. But when I tried to apply paint and matte varnish to wagons etc I found it left a bubbly finsh and not a smooth finish. Did i over thin it or something?

Most likely a mix of air pressure and paint thickness. Make sure you use the correct thinner for your paint ( manafacturers vary their mixtures for both paint and thinner). Also make sure your pressure is high enough you get a good constant flow of paint but too high will also cause problems with spitting. Testing first on a plain piece of paper will give you a good idea of how the paint will come out

@@HorsehayRailwayModeller Thanks for your advice and I think the problem was because I over thinned the paint and have had better results second time round. Also have ordered some proper airbrush thinner.

No explanation of how you cleaned the rails to ensure good conduction! Surely a crucial issue.

A plain old peco track rub er works every time.
