You/your locs are beautiful. I’m on my 3rd set of locs, 2nd set ended bc I hated my parting and became obsessed with grid parting. I started this set with microloc extensions…I was so in love right after my install. I went for my first retie (not done by the consultant that did the install, but by someone who retied my 2nd set)…the consultant had sooooo many negative comments about the size of my new locs (they’re too small, these are going to break and so on). I left my retie with thoughts of cutting them off. 2 days ago I went for a consultation with the consultant I was referred too for my reties by the installer, however I didn’t tell her any of my back story until she answered my ‘is the base of my locs too small?’…her answer was absolutely not, then asked why I would even think that?!?!? I am so thankful for my last consultation and that I am able to continue this journey with the excitement and love that I had when I started. Install was 12/11/21.
Congrats!!!!!🙌🏽 That old school thinking that small locs will break remains strong. It does play with my head. When I look at my smaller locs, I wonder. But, so far so good even if I feel apprehensive, I try to trust in the process. My consultant says if the base is strong, they will be fine. Enjoy your new set! 💖
Your locs are absolutely beautiful. I had 600 SL's when I began 6yrs ago but had them combined to 350 due to the thin ones were getting really then and didn't want to risk losing locks. My consultant was able to retain my grid as well.
Thanks for carrying us along. Your locs are so inspiring. I got Microlocks because I couldn't afford Sisterlocks at the time (quite honestly) and also because I wanted to be able to self-maintain (this was April 2019, so long before COVID). I ended up with 237 locs. My question - Would you be open to doing a Sisterlocks styling album from letters A-Z and we can name them as you post them? Oh, and the tearing and runny nose happen to me too with makeup. Especially if an eyeliner or mascara is involved.
You were smart in your decision. I wanted a break from styling my hair. And so I chose the smallest size I could handle. Now, 3 years in, I see that I was burnt out and it was a temporary feeling. Great idea about the styling idea… I wanted to try more styles this year. Over 25 styles in a year! That might be a lot for me… it’s a challenge… but let me see how I could try it… thank you! ❤️
I have microlocs because I refused to sit for 3 days. Mine are 8 weeks. Installed by my natural hair stylist. I'm doing reties every 5 weeks. Low density and low prosperity but I love it.
While watching this video, I realize that I have not looked at my locs as closely as you do. I may take the time soon to do this. 🤷🏾♀️ I always enjoy your updates. Thanks for sharing.
I know... But thinking about it gives me anxiety... 🤣 If I combine 2 locs all over my head, I'll have about the same amount of Microlocs I had before getting Sisterlocks. But yes, I know that is an option. I just hope I never really need to do it. 🙏 For now, it's a minor annoyance.
When you braid and wash, do you make sure it's all completely dry before taking it down? Also Since you don't use the rubber bands at the ends, what do you use?
Omgosh! I thought I was the only one who got watery eyes when I do makeup! My nose also gets runny when I do makeup too, I don't know why, lol🤣 Anny, your locs look beautiful! Thanks so much for this video ❤❤❤ Edit to add: can your loctician add hair to thicken that thin loc?
😂😂😂 thank you! She told me she’s keeping an eye on them and not to worry. She says for now, the look structurally sound so she doesn’t see the need to combine or fortify. Time will tell…
Hi. Thanks so much for this vid. A lot of questions answered about sizing. My kids are bigger. 200 count. Since you can combine to make them bigger, can you also take them apart to make them smaller?
Je me renseignerais . Merci de m’avoir répondu !☺️
