Just bought one last week so thanks for going through the RC settings Dan. This is my first DJI drone...was skeptical, however the feeling is long gone. So many great tips! Waypoints are cool but POI is a feature that is rarely discussed. Generally, there is a subject or POI that is identified before a WP mission is planned. Knowing how to use POI at the start of a WP mission makes a HUGE difference in the quality of the outcome.

The waypoint flight is pretty impressive. It remembers exact orientation and camera positioning. I've recorded waypoints during the day, and executed them at night in the pitch black and they work even though the camera is blind. I have seen minor varaince sometimes when running repeat missions. So be sure to plan extra safe missions, so you're still safe if its a bit off target.

Yes, but we are talking about camera drones, not FPV drones. The average drone consumer has no idea what that means, I get questions about it all of the time.
Under Advanced Safety settings, you missed something important. The downward vision sensors can be disabled to make it much more easy to hand catch the drone if there's nowhere to land safely. Sport mode doesn't disable the downward sensors. The sensors reenable when you power up again.
How many of these features, if any, do you think DJI will add to the M3P? Seems to me many of them could be added unless there are some technical issues that prevent it.
I will also give you one tip … while you are typing in the address or location , in order to stop the popping up of Chinese characters if you ain’t in that region of typing Chinese , hit the globe icon on the keyboard to change into English English .
Just bought my dji 4 and did my first solo yesterday, tentatively. Tried the quick transfer drone to mobile, recognises the album and details of the image, but not the image itself. Live on the Sunshine Coast but currently travelling by caravan in WA. Naturally I’m keen to capture as much as I can which is why I took the plunge to purchase
Dan, can you download and save an offline map of a remote location and then plan a waypoints mission on that map at home, so you can then fly that mission when you get to that location?
Great lesson Dustin. I own 4 DJI drones and the MINI 4 PRO is now my favorite. There is so much useful technology packed into this little package and your lesson brings it to light with out going too deep for the first look. Is there a way to adjust the speed at which the zoom control button can be adjusted so that the zoom in or out is slowed down to the desired amount; similar to the adjustments we can make with the Gain and Expo settings? Also, it would be nice to be able to adjust the smoothness of the gimble tilt using the button on the top of the controller too. In a perfect world it would be nice if I could program either the C1 or C2 button to act as my automatic Home-Updater button. This way it would be just a matter of pressing that programmable button when I moved away from my original launch point to update my Home Position.
@@DansTubeTV I joined the DJI forum last week and I asked the same question there. Eventually one of the moderators replied to my question. She also stated that such an adjustment couldn't be done but, she would pass along that suggestion to the people who were in charge of that kind of thing. It didn't surprise me. I've made other requests and suggestions before and gotten the same response. What that generic response means is, "We'll save that upgrade for the next iteration of the same drone, so you'll have to buy a new drone if you really want that feature." I'd love to be able to program the C1 or the C2 button on the back of the controller to automatically update my home position too. At the very least it would be nice if there was an icon among all of those settings icons that we could pick that would just make the controller itself the home positions. That way I wouldn't have to remember to manually update the home position myself every time I move to a different spot.
To be fair, not doing the zoom in the drone, but rather in the editing, allows you to retain the full quality of the image, and perfectly tune the framing you want. It is only a digital zoom, meaning you won't have any advantages of doing the zoom in camera.
Any tips for working with AEB for photos? It looks like you can't adjust the limited 0.7 steps at all. I set it once, but now can't keep the menu on screen long enough to change to 5 steps to give more range.

Hi Dan, I need a bit of advice really, hope you can help. I just received my Mini 4 pro yesterday, and whilst i was installing the initial firmware update, i accidentally turned off the drone. As soon as i realized I turned it on again, but i am wondering if the firmware was installed correctly on the drone. What can I do if not, can I reinstall the firmware again?
Me too. So I saved, every $ I could stick away I did. Now I finally have a DJI Mini 4 pro. I am very excited and still get a bit worried flying it, being a noob. But I'm getting more faith in it all the time. It's the only drone I have ever owned or flown so I'm not taking any big risks. I can take off from home and fly straight out to the beach fly up and down the beach a bit then fly back home and still have enough power to keep flying for at least 10 more minutes most of the time. Mini 4 pro. I am very excited and still get a bit of that feeling in the guts you get when you fly it for the first time. It's magic
That "wind indicator" on the compass is exactly like an artificial horizon in an aircraft. It shows how the horizon would look to the pilot of the aircraft when in an angle of bank. Now you know.
Yes, but if the drone does not recognise the subject as a person then you are not going to be able to use the ActiveTrack mode. It can be fiddly to draw a box around someone, especially if you aren’t close to them.
