It's faked she brought dog treats with her no one does that unless they're with a dog or something of that sort and if it was real that means they knew about the dog and its coordinates somehow so she brought the treats so instead of just rescuing it right away they decide to get out the cameras first and video tape it... yeah what real heroes. The dog isn't any better off he's being used for a 5 minute crafts video to make them look like good people that's why they video taped it their first priority was to make sure they recorded their "heroism" the dog's health was only secondary to them
