Hope you enjoyed this video, it's certainly my own favourite! Massive thanks to Patrick @becomingpatrick on Insta for his camera and editing genius! Please SUBSCRIBE & support my channel via www.ctrlandshift.com Thank you!
Joe Achilles hey Joe, love the channel but I’d really love you to do something with these guys ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6VDo-SDLj6o.html
I regrettably only got round to watching this now - what a fantastic video mate! The mood, the visuals, the storytelling - fantastic. Keep it coming, your content is only getting better! 🔥😍
Love Audis ...this one is superb, from what I've seen in reviews (never driven one). Very nice review of course! Also: I'd be scared to drive this speed. Period. Never mind with the steering/driver position on the RIGHT side, as done in UK.
What a fantastic video and storytelling. The editing and the overall quality is superb. Very very well done. I know I say it in most of my comments on Joe's channel, but every time it gets me. It is getting better and better. That's a channel that should be a 500k subscribers on its rapid way to 1M. Definitely, one of the best, if not the best, car channel I know of. I can only ask for more frequent videos and if I were demanding I'd ask for some classic BMW on the channel and not only the latest, somehow unaffordable, BMW models...
Excellent video, as we have come to expect :) Btw, Super Plus is 98 octane, if you want 102, you need to stop at an Aral station and get Aral Ultimate.
Well done Joe, absolutely fantastic review and speed, it’s really great to see an objective and quality review , especially at over 200 mph. Drive safe .
Joe, your videos are great. I am recovering from surgery and so they are great entertainment AND inspiring. This summer, I plan to do some what I call extreme road trips here in Europe and plan with time, visit some of the places you have in Germany . I live in SE Holland so hopping across the border is easy to take out my 2018 BMW 118i, nothing speed or power wise to your BMW M2, but still more than I thought I would get for the price and being a "practical" car. Thanks again for all the great and entertaining reviews and footage, it makes the healing process go by more quickly.
Hey Peter, man I'm sorry to hear you're going through tough times at the moment, sounds like you're on the mend and looking forward to good times in the future though, that is awesome! I'm lucky enough to recieve some lovely comments about my videos over the years, but hearing this from you really makes all my (and Patrick's) efforts worthwhile! I have plenty of jealous haters, many of which try to get me in trouble, shame as all I'm doing is sharing my fortunate experiences with others... Best of luck with everything man, let me know how you get on in the 118. Cheers Joe ✌️
@@JoeAchilles1 thanks for the great and kind reply. You made the comment in one of your videos you are an honest guy, and that I believe because you show this throughout your videos. I am very happy for you and for other's like you that are having success on RU-vid. And foresure when I am up and running with my 118 I will let you know. Right now I am planning some micro trips, which will take time and research, plus upgrading my kit. Best of luck and you truly are a man of character, substance and honesty.
The 200mph club...🥇 ‘322kmh mirror check Mav, looks like we got Eurofighters on our tail!’ 🤣 Won’t forget that little pre release snippet for a while, spat my tea out laughing. #Legend
This sums up the reason for the existence of modern performance cars. When internal combustion disappears the speed will still be there but I fear the thrill of it wont.
I guess the UK didn't learn from the US that artificially low speed limits/enforcement doesn't work. The US had a nationwide 55 mph speed limit in the 80's and it was a total failure. It didn't reduce deaths or improve fuel economy. Let people DRIVE!
@@JoeAchilles1 Yes, this is one of the worst countries to buy luxury cars. They really don't like it when you have anything above average. Even a Toyota GT86 which is around 40K in Germany is well over €58K here in The Netherlands.
Awesome video Joe, production quality stepped up to next level!! Shout out to Patrick as well. My hear rate went up with the vmax run, can only imagine how it felt, what a machine. Fake vents aside, the perfect supercar 👍
I recently hit 160mph in my V10 R8. The car was bouncing around due to the poor roads, that was about as fast as I felt comfortable going. Props on 212mph!
Really good video Joe, very professional and high quality, not mad on the new R8 styling I feel it's a bit over done with the front end grill and those wheels
great vid Joe, but also loving the care and attention you took to get up to 200mph, not just a hoon and having go but looked at all the safety aspects too!! Also loving the producion on these vids mate!
Very well done, Joe! Kudos to you for doing it the right way--the proper road, at the proper time, with minimal traffic, doing a scouting run before, and checking the condition of the car and tires in preparation. Very few people will have an opportunity to do what you did here, but for those who will, you showed them the way to do it!
I love the r8, it's always been my dream car but I just cant fall for the new shape. The fake vents are just lary and tacky looking. V10 plus is still the best IMO. Great vid Joe 💪
Superb vid. Great intro Perfect build up. Nailed it with the camera set up at speed. Seem to remember Catchpole doing a cool speed run shoot.... ....but this is the best one I've seen.
Wow, what a fantastic video. Your video of the R8 Spyder in the Alps is probably my favorite car video so far, but this is right up there with it and on a Carfection level of quality and storytelling. Why there isn’t an additional zero on your subscriber count is beyond me. Keep bringing us videoes like this Joe 👍🏻 Could you please also let us know what stretch of Autobahn this was on?
Finally, Finaly, someone outside of the POV videos who really puts the pedal to the medal and for more than a few seconds too! Awesome video Joe, thanks man. Thumbs UP.
What an absolutely brilliant video Joe, that is one stunning car, and to reach 341kph (211.888mph) is totally amazing, I was blown away with it, I just found your channel while watching you do a drag race with Mat Watson with the BMW M8 and the AMG A45s, so I've just subscribed and hit the all notifications button, well done on a fantastic video and your first 200+ MPH drive from the driver's seat
Thanks a lot Raymond! Glad you came over thanks to the Carwow video, appreciate your support 🙏 Yeah making this video was really special, everything worked out well and we had a nice clear run.... Have a great weekend
Another great video Joe. Keep ‘em coming👍🏻. You’re right what you say about the OPF quietening things down somewhat; I compared my 2017 non plus (with factory sports exhaust) side by side with a new R8 performance a few days ago and my one was noticeably louder generally with valves open (and loads more pops and crackles).😎
Joe! That was such a fantastic video and the production level was amazing. Well done mate. It’s incredible how stable and easy that R8 is at over 200mph. Keep doing what you know best, I know you’ve been going through a rough patch but know this. You have people like us who will always love and cherish your videos. So keep going mate. ❤️
So Awesome ! Back in 2015 renting 2014 R8 Spyder, I chicken out at 270 KM. Now I own 2012 V10 so in this summer, renting a 2016 Porsche GT3 so will see if I have the guts to pass 270 KM since I live in wonderful New Jersey USA with horrible driving ethics.
The intro and outro has just raised the You Tube bar and Joe has metaphorically thrown down the gauntlet to the others. Top quality content. Well done to all involved. Keep it up!
Fabulous video. High quality production and great achievement hitting over 200mph. Some more footage of the M2 tracking and filming would be welcome to compare performance
Thank you! The tracking stuff was done before my runs at much slower speeds, we couldn't risk the equipment falling off etc at high speeds... The ACS M2 C is quick, but the R8 is in a different league in straight line terms
You are a mad man! 😂 fastest I’ve been was around 280kph and I got scared as the tops of the doors of the modified 1981 vw golf one I was driving started to pull away from the body! 😂😂 maybe I would be braver in a better car
