We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls 😊 The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls... were taken down with a coffee spoon and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

At the end of the mouvement, just before your arm stops going forward, rotate your wrist outwards, be quick and swift. It’s like lifting a shot while playing tennis but in the opposite direction.. The cement will hit the wall much faster, so that the wall will retain more matter and the structure be rougher, which in turn facilitate the following tasks. (I learned it painstakingly myself)

Thank you for the advice! I would add that protecting the adjacent surfaces helps too in order to not be afraid of repainting the whole room 😄

Ottimo lavoro, ragazzi!

Great video guys! So much progress & really interested to see the pumice plaster! Not heard of that before
@ateliermavi
@ateliermavi Год назад
Thank you ☺️ the main ingredients of this plaster are hemp and hydrated lime, which is an air lime. It means that it hardens in contact with the air (at the opposite of the hydraulic lime that does with water) and more specifically by absorbing CO2, it's called 'carbonation'. Adding pumice (not much) which is a very porous vulcanic rock helps this process by bringing little air pockets inside your layer of plaster 🤓
@dirttdude
@dirttdude Год назад
i tried aircrete and hempcrete but it was all to expensive for the amount that i needed so i set out to find a cheaper and lighter material, at the garbage dump.... introducing styrocrete, i grind up free styrofoam and put 10 gallons of it in with a bag of cement and mix normally, its as strong as aircrete but a fraction of the price. I make 2X2 panels in a form three inches thick and shape them with a steel cutting blade in a sawzall, one side finishes smooth the other has texture
@seaking526
@seaking526 Год назад
Possibly the best idea I've heard. Does it have insulating/water resistance properties that you know of?
@cliffordchristopher1
@cliffordchristopher1 Год назад
How do you get it to not float?
@dirttdude
@dirttdude Год назад
@@seaking526 3" tiles have an R rating of 10, about the same as 2" styrofoam, 6" bricks would have an R value of 20. The 'Smooth side' has better resistance to water absorption than aircrete but i cant see any reason why it couldn't be coated with thin mortar

Ciao ragazzi!
@ateliermavi
