Well done Captain! I liked hearing your feelings in this video and finding that I had pretty much the same ones. It is not for everybody to be so long by themselves, not only for the weather but mainly for the managing of the strong emotions that this kind of adventure bings. A lot of respect for you.

It was a long journey, my brother, but you did it well with all the challenges that came your way. I felt like being alone in the middle of the ocean is the way I like to do it; it's like having freedom that no one can prevent you from having. Talking to nature and listening to the sound of the waves and wind are the best experiences you've ever had on this journey. It's a really fascinating experience.

I always thought birds in the deepest parts of the ocean is not very likely so the fishes on the deck would probably be the ones that jumped out of the water and landed onto the boat deck but when I saw your video with birds this deep into the ocean, this put me into a thinking state as well!

Some birds can eat, drink, and even sleep on the wing, only landing to nest and breed. Swifts are one such breed, and they live in the air over land!

What a smashing video. Great questions too. Still an armchair sailor myself, well apart from my 12 foot wooden dinghy, but seeing this I realise again I must amend that.

I can’t really stand being on boats due to seasickness, but I have a huge fascination with sailing ships and wish I could handle going on them. This looks like such an amazing adventure

They're squid. Squid can jump or fly out of the water. Birds such as swifts and frigate birds which spend most of their life in the air can sleep while flying. Other birds sleep on the water in groups. Sleeping in groups means they alert others when the water gets rough and in times of danger

Your video is just wonderful. It is also SO honest. Lone travelling can be lonely, but, at the same time fulfilling. Please make sure you visit Rarotonga. Avarua has a good harbour and the Cook Islanders are amoung the very best people on our planet.

Wow! Massive respect ,to sail these distances alone. But I think I understand the joy to be had, alone with the elements,wildlife and your boat and friend. Must be very humbling experience and one hard to put into words. I am envious of your solitude I think 🙄🤔. I only travelled around Society Islands, Tahiti ,bora bora ,rangiroa etc etc on a clipper ship in 2009, but thoroughly enjoyed my. 12vdays at sea, obviously nothing to compare to your journey. I look forward to more of your travels 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Me was in Pacific twice. And it was pacific: no storm, no rain, no wind. It's auful! So that wish you adventage, but no pacific.

Thanx for reminding roughly the same route, enjoyed so similarly and yet differently: a single-hander aged 76, but in the name of more challenge (adrenaline actually) choosing a 30 foot boat ("Single Malt" from Riga) and no satellite weather or communication.
