Driver got opne tire off the shoulder of the road and it sucked him into a clay bank . Every one got out with no injuries . This was on a sunday evening at the end of a Clam dig . We had to clear the road quickly as the traffic leaving the Peninsula was very heavy . Parker put a cable on the rear of the motor home so it wouldn't swing into the bank as I pulled the front end up on the road . We didn't want the weight of the RV to be resting on the back right corner of the Motor Home as it would have torn the rear corner off .
I was in route from Raymon WA coming back from dropping off the Dump truck when this call came in . Made for a very busy day . We started at 5:30 AM to go up in the woods to get the dump truck and finished off the day with the RV tow .

sounds like a good money day for you. had a truck last week that was for helicopter logging roll over on a narrow logging road up here it had 800 gallons of aircraft fuel in it with a landing pad on it. took both of our class c trucks to lift it out.

I really love watching your "unique" ways of rescuing vehicles from ditches etc. There are times however I have to ask myself, why doesn't he have a rotator for some of the heavier jobs. Just curious I guess.

Rotators are million dollar investments. George lives in the countryside of Ocean Park Washington. Probably not a big enough city to keep a million dollar truck busy. He does a great job with what he has and it is probably paid off so it's all profit and not bank payments!

hey man im ot saying you diid it all wrong but in that situation tie a pullie to your wheel lift down to the ground level and put the cable trew it with the hook going up to the motorhome frame that way you pull the motorhome downward and minimize the damage plzz man try that and let me know how you succed after that front bumper plastic was on on the begining and was riped of when you pull that thing out

you sure are fast to call every thing totaled .. yeah i cant see the passenger side of the RV but what i can see was a new lower cap and maybe some lower bay doors ?

Laid over like that the insurance will write it off basically for sure. There will be structure damage to the whole house. The frame and power are probably all fine but the coach is toast.

could be anywhere from 1600ftlbs up to 2200ftlbs depending on how deep mr hills pockets are

why would u not hook up from the low side , i think u ripped off the bumper from not hooking ur cable down to a snatch block and then started ur pull , just saying , but good job guy's , cheers from ontario , canada ........

Not designed for off road use,They seldom survive a ditching. If people knew how hadly built those things were they would stop buying them. Junk for way too much money. Cheaper staying at a B&B.

Shouldn't the pull have been done from ground level? Doing it from above caused LF corner of MH to go higher, which put more weight on RR, which caused body to be crushed further, which can be heard in video. I don't think putting this job out for public viewing was the best idea.

It always amazed me that to drive the smallest Commercial Vehicle you have to be trained and pass a special test (Commercial Drivers License, which you pay through the nose for) and have a medical card but any drooling moron with the money can drive a vehicle as large as a commercial bus and operate it with a regular licence, no special training and no medical requirements. The RV manufacturers must have a lot of politicians in their pockets.

40 years in the heavy recovery business in the uk, must have been doing it wrong all these years, what happened to proper positioning and proper winching? pull that front left corner down and rear right comes up , simple.

you all did a good job of getting it out, sounds like maine or connec., i just don't know if experience or inexperience had something to do w/this....reason i ask is a i drive a school bus for a living, i know winds have something to do w/it, ect......just curious is all-nice retreival anyways

mrbakerskatz The RV couldn't come down as the center of gravity on it was still in the ditch . As for the tow out of the ditch Tye was never in danger . I stopped the tow while the rear of the RV was still in the ditch . We have been performing this maneuver together for 4 years ,. You just have to make sure everyone knows what is expected of them .

+michael obrien The driver of that tow truck knew this motor home was nothing but parts before he even got to the scene. I once saw a motor home become totaled when the driver took it over a extreme RR crossing at excessive speed and stuffed the front bumper. The front end damage was actually minor but the interior cabinetry and walls of the coach were structurally damaged when the frame flexed to the point of the costs of repairs far exceeding the value of the coach. And, this was a late model coach! Causing any additional bumps and bruises was not a consideration in this recovery. Under other circumstances, you better believe different techniques would have been used!
