Watching this video really has to hold back my saliva! I was most impressed with the grilled clams and lobsters, really huge! The food culture in Malaysia is really diverse, I am very happy to see so many delicious food at one time! You did a really great job, thanks a lot for sharing!👍😄👏👏👏
Luke even as a local i must say u did a fantastic job especially with your research on these wonderful places..this extensive compilation just shows that my country is indeed a food paradise lol
Malay Laksa is my favourite I love it with coconut and without too yummy 😋 so many different versions of laksa but Iust say Malay is right up there top 5 .yummy 😊
I love all your compilation videos, and this one from Malaysia is especially fine. Thanks a lot for sharing. Malaysia is for me one of the best places in the world for food. I especially love Roti Canai for breakfast, everything fishy, and Laksa Penang.
Wow! This admittedly is the 1st video I have ever seen from you Luke, but I'm very impressed, bravo!!! 👏👏👏 You really know a lot about food, all the different ingredients, the different descriptions in look, presentation, taste, flavor, cooking method, etc. I strongly suggest people doing food reviews, over internet AND TV, to watch this and learn how to do a proper, more in-depth, more attractive and more informative review instead of merely repeating ummm sedappp...! Again, kudos to you kid, keep it up! 👍
I also never try the Ais Tingkap but I know it is delicious by the combination of the ingredients. By the unknown ingredient names Kembang Semangkuk (Scaphium Affine) and Getang Anggur (Grape Gum/tragacanth Gum) also you can found it in "Lai Chi Kang" drink. Its a lot of benefit.
You are eating like a local! Jst a suggestion, as you covered a nmbr of Malaysian states, it will b good u mention the state you are eating at so we can do our homewrk n check out the different stalls too.
Oh girl, you can literally just grab your bag and car keys, walk out your door, and drive for 1 hour, and you can have many of those food depicted in here yourself in or around JB, and be home again before the end of the day (only to repeat the next day, and the next weekend!) 😬
There's still more to explore 😂 but this is quite a compilation. I love the way you and Sabrina present your videos. Always looking forward to your content.

Luke....that is great work. An arab American watching you from Dallas TX. Watching food in the making and appreciating it gives a good meaning to life. Your presentation is simple and natural. Great work.
thank you for featuring most of the 'must have' food when you are in Malaysia. My favourite shop is the banana cake (nor bread) which I have been consuming since I was 8 years old and now I am 48! There's also another old traditional (6th generation now) bakery the name is Salahuddin Bakery....established in the early 1900. Still using traditional charcoal oven method in Johor Bahru. You should try Mee Rebus which is the signature dish of Johor....hope you'll be back and review more food!
Luke I love this video oh my God thank you for showing this outstanding job you make everything look so beautiful and tasty and I just oh I just want to grab all that food and I love the roti oh my goodness I am so jealous of your showing ability right now because I want to be chewing that rotate so keep up the great work get out more videos like this and show us what the true country is like I enjoy watching this and once again thank you very much I can't trouble because I lost my leg so I wait for guys like you to show me and show us what it's all about so we can enjoy it also much love and much peace. ☮️🇺🇸🥄🥢🌶️🍽️
I read a european commenting in nomad elite channel that thailand and vietnam is his food paradise. And he claimed he lived here for 1 year. I guess he never left kl or his apartment.
Luke, you left many food tubers empty on words to appraise what we saw tonight. Yes a compilation, a spectrum pretty comprehensive that I didnt identify at least 10 of them. So kudos, I have to watch this a few more times. You have the tools , scope, editing knowhow to make this an apocalypse of Malaysian food and beverage scene to Malaysians. This video must have spanned Malaysia, taken hundreds of hours of short videos to produce this maximus compilation.
Man. Can you go back to your home country and showcase some authentic native Canadian dishes? I want to see moose and deer meat. Salmon. Bannock. Indian ice cream and soap berry juice. I don't see any one doing it.
What a great treat! Watching so many delicious foods from one episode. Adopting the local culture. Using fingers to pick up the food. High-quality video.
This becomes the ultimate guide for any travellers coming to Malaysia and a reference for new vloggers to learn from Luke. His time in Malaysia all compressed into this. Best!
Oh wow! You really know a lot about food and have tried so many local delicacies! There are places and some dishes that I am a Malaysian have not tried yet! :) Thanks for sharing and enjoy your stay!
Kembang semangkuk, is the basil seeds when you soak the seeds in water will basically "kembang" means swells and "semangkuk" means a bowl, which is what happens when you put just a small spoonful of basil seeds soaked in a bowl of water. It's my favourite drink but i normally have soaked basil seeds with rose syrup in iced water..it's a cooling drink great to have during hot weather.
I was born in Brunei, Borneo and moved to the US in 1968, I wish I had some of that food back then, I remember Satay, Nasi Goreng, and some noodles dishes, would love to go back for the food you showed, get video!
Makes me sad for North Americans 'surviving' on Starbucks and Red Lobster😩😩...Curious - does one tip in Malaysia? Thanks Luke - great compilation video❤❤
Tipping is not mandatory in all South East Asia countries including Singapore and Malaysia. You could leave some tips in restaurants or hotels if you feel the servers deserve it.
No tipping is not a culture in Malaysia and neither is it expected. You can leave a tip if you think they deserve it but no one will ask or expect more money than what is stated on the menu.
Nak makan ikan, buat pisang goreng pun guna tangan kanan. Just common practice for muslim. Very weird to witness even for malay lady using left hand to carry banana.curious.
Clay Pot Rice is a Southern Chinese dish. Best is to leave the rice at the bottom and sides crisp up from the heat of the clay pot while just mixing the top and center. Char Kway Teow had the char from the high heat of the wok, and what you smelled was more the wok essence rather than the charcoal. That Chinese sausage is a regional variation from Malaysia/Singapore as it has a nice sweetness to it, unlike most Chinese sausage.
Wow Luke My Good Friend These Top 3 Videos Are My Most Amazing And Favorite Of All Time which are the top 35 Malaysian Street Foods Video and the Japanese Street Foods Video And The 38 Taiwanese Street Foods Video Across This Very Nice And Very Interesting Land Of Taipei Taiwan 👍😎😁👏👏👏🇺🇸
Ais kapang seems to be a uniquely malayasian version of saruwath drink popular in Sri Lanka and India (so it made all the sense when he revealed that founder came from Lanka) Here, itsy usually made without adding coconut water afaik. Roti canai is basically egg rotti which too is a popular dish in sri lanka. The way they add the eggs seem to be unique but the end product looks the same. It's cool to see that Malaysians also have some dishes from here as we also have some dishes that have had a lot of Malay/Java influence.
Roti canai is basically Prata Rotti ... a famous bread from Kerala (south india). In Singapore it is still called ROTI Prata. When put is with egg ... it is called Roti telur. Roti is an Indian word for bread. (normally refer to chapati or flat bread) But in Malaysia or Singapore, Roti refer to all types of breads. Most Malaysian Mamak stall serve kerala origin foods whereas Indian (non-muslim) stall serve Tamil food (such as Tosai) ... there are slight different between these but they sometimes sell both.
@@FauziahAbdullah715 haha sure, hopefully one day I will be able to visit Malaysia and Indonesia. I'm sure I would love the malay spin on these classic food items.
@@marcusgoh73 - common Marcus, the name roti canai existed for a hundred years already. Chennai name existed quite recently with the renaming of Madras city.
Hi Luke I missed Sabrina 😢because it was very interesting to watch chop sticks with both of you I hope Sabrina will join you and to make the traveling more interesting I am looking forward to see you and Sabrina together again . take care.
You hit most but missed some...here are a few just for future reference in case you are interested...you should try the Nasi Dagang in Kelantan, Mee Bandung in Johor (Also the Johor Laksa which is different from what you had coz that was the Penang Laksa) and both the Indian and Malay versions of Nasi Briyani; both taste differently from one another and definitely are different from what you had in India. Ofc they have so many other than what i had mentioned depending on the States and races. Been living here for more than 3 years now and loving it.
