06 auto is rev up. Revs out at 6600 RPM.

I have a rev up with 103k miles. It’s a great car and I love it. I add half a quart every 700 miles, which means it burns less than a quart per 1k miles. Of course driving your rev up hard or using crappy oil will cause her to burn more. Castrol edge burns the least in my car, Mobil 1 burns the most.

for me Castrol High Mileage used to burn so much more than Mobil 1 High Mileage but soon I'm changing from 5w30 to 10w40 due to hot weather.

i know the perfet hack for a de rev up..... Check and top up your oil every 2 weeks and you will always be fine ;D and have the extra rpm and power. Ive had both and rev up defo superior.

I got an 2008 350z for 1800 at a auction it was flooded but maybe to the tires only cause there was no water in oil or anywhere else love the car has 120000 miles 20gs of those are mine dam am glad I took a chance on it love it and didn't even know about having the hr engine 😀

Best thing about my 07 G35 6mt is that I only have to change oil filter every year, the oil cycles itself every 2-3 months lol, I still love the car tho.

I have the DE-rev up and hear everyone say the motors burn oil. I’m the third owner hitting 145k miles. No oil consumption make your own choice based on your budget but don’t count out the rev up. Slightly faster than my buddy’s de and he’s got more oil consumption.

Fuck the oil problem 9/10 a rev up will gap a normal DE 😂 that extra 500 rpm and with the right mods and a good tune really make a difference dont sleep on a rev up

I bought a Nissan 350Z 2008 model a few months ago and I JUST LEARNED last night it's an HR. I'm kind of new to the whole engine thing- so when they throw terms like DE and whatnot, I have no idea what they're talking about. Throw me a video like this where someone explains the many differences between the engines, and all of a sudden I'm a curious student.

The 05 MT 35th anniversary the only model in 05 with rev up and also the rev up engines are much more responsive to tuning over regulat DE and have the version of the CD009 with an external slave cylinder unlike HR which are plastic internal slaves and known to fail.

First car was a 03 g35 sedan. Ran great. Then got a 05 g35 coupe 6mt and the revup engine burned so much oil. Ridiculous amount. Now i have an 08 HR and it’s been great so far, no oil burning issues

03-05: de engine, redline at 6600 05 35th anniversary: de revup engine, redline at 7000(with old style headlights, tail lights and front bumper) 06 manual trans: de revup engine, redline at 7000 06 auto trans: de engine, redline at 6600 07-09: hr engine, redline at 7500 auto or manual trans. 09 350z's only came convertible in north america whereas europe and asia got both the hard top and convertible The more you know....🌈

So I have a 350z 2003 (used of course) but I don’t know what model it is tbh it has a nismo badge (it’s taken off but you can see the letter still) it’s been motor swapped by previous owner. Have heated seats and side mirrors. My butt looks wayyy wider than other base model 350z which throws me off. Has the cruise control and has a VSH? I believe bottom at the left side of the dash little below the steering wheel inbetween there and the clutch. I know there’s the enthusiast z’s, nismos, touring, and base I just don’t know this z is a mystery to me. Just curious that’s all

I'm guessing I should stay away from the 35th Anniversary Edition. Since they only came with the DE Rev up engine. I wanted an 05 35th Anniversary Edition, but I did my research, and it said they all came with the DE Rev up engine.

Thanks for that info. I have a 350z has a bunch of likes on it spin/ vcs and check engine. Car idle bouncing from 300- 900 and is riding like is clogged.any ideas. I just got throttle cleaner and mas air cleaner which I’m going to try tomorrow. I traded and old bike for the car so I didn’t pay cash for it. Any help please

Ok I fixed all those lights. I changed 3 coils and all the spark plugs. Added brake fluid and took apart throttle buddy and maf and clean them out. I’m happy to say. No more check engine and the vcs light and spin light are all off. Car is running amazing. Tomorrow I’ll be working on the ac pulling and replacing the belts.

i've just bought a DE one 04 plate with 40k on the clock dark grey, been very well looked after with over 15 service stamps from dealership. Im collecting it on monday on the 14th seriously cant wait so excited although i wish i knew about the HR before i bought it but im still excited, 280bhp is enough anyway and it sounds really nice so im not too fussed about not having a HR one

In S.E. GA my 08 hr cost 11,500 after tax, tag, and title 106k miles lol they cost more here, but it was from Nissan. Not too many Nissan dealers put 350s on their lots here unless it's low mileage, here it's easier to auction them off after a trade in. That's the only reason I got mine they knew it was worth it I noticed it sat for 3 months on 2 separate lots from looking at the dealers desk when they walked off and car fax and got the price dropped since I knew they couldn't get it sold for what they originally wanted on the sticker. I paid under the sticker price total though and it was worth it. No problems at all. The DE has way more mods and they are cheaper also easier to find, but z1 is looking out for the hr people

I didn't find a 350z I found an infiniti g35 coupe. The kid that owned before me run premium only oil changes at 3700. It has 105K. I continue the discipline it runs great but I do notice the oil burning issue. super nice car though can't believe snag at 5850. summer and weekends only.... I thought about finding another revup to rebuild. Expensive. Would an HR fit a revup? same computer? Sorry if I don't make sense lots of Tanqueray.

Rev-up engines have cheaper piston rings. Pretty much the dumbest thing I've heard. I have a 180,000 mile de-rev up engine. We should meet up, I am on Tempe town lake. We can make a video of these cheaper pistion rings laying the smoke down on your 350z.

pretty sure shape wise its a direct swap but the wiring harness is different from 6pins to 8pins, requires a bit of fiddling and rewiring to get it to work

probably not - sounds like the oil is slipping past the piston rings, from how he's explaining it. You could possibly take the engine all apart and replace the rings with better seals, but that's so much work. just check the oil levels and top it off when you fill up at the gas station.
