Renovating a 140 year old Stone House in the Italian Alps.
I'm preparing the big old fireplace so that I can install the stove underneath. Then there are various transition points and edges that I have to fill with lime mortar. In between, I start carrying large stones to the front of the house to build the retaining wall for the future terrace. The wooden ceiling is treated with linseed oil. I provisionally sand the top of the old wooden table. And behind the house, against the rock, I build a temporary rain roof with slats and plastic sheeting; later I will cover it with corrugated iron to protect the house from flooding in the future when it rains heavily.
