really impressed with you project I have various software & my mac pro & been looking into trying it out for myself, just need to get my projector next. Any advice on a suitable projector i.e. how many lumen would be needed & would I need a long throw or short throw projector? I appreciate you getting back to me & keep up the good work.
Just got this working yesterday, looks sweet!! One question, do you use a custom version of the msa_Quad_Warp plugin? Mine just says '123' on the test image, but yours has an aspect ratio.
Thanks, I'll try that. One more thing, what software are you using to play the animations and things? Is it something custom or is it something like VDMX?
@fatwallet13 thx, cant give you advice on projectors. we just borrowed 2 normal projectors with about 3000 ANSI Lumen and a Matrox DualHead2Go to connect them to a PC.
yes all live, but mostly automated with audio-spectrum and a BPM Timer. i also use a custom build controller software that sends OSC messages to quartz composer. u can see it at 1:02
quartz composer can do this very easy. warping and playing 4 videos isnt that expensive, i can do it on my macbook from 2009. if you can connect all 4 projectors to one mac then you are good to go, otherwise quartz composer can run on several macs at the same time.
yes i changed them, there are some images embedded in the qtz file, you can replace them with your own images. i also added a ratio-selection option, but that includes some javascript etc.
Hey, you'll probably not read this because this video is so old, but I'm in a bind right now and stressing out at rehearsal. I was wondering if you still had the program that you used for this? or the code. I fairly decent with computers so I can learn to run it, but I'm having trouble finding an open source program that can do exactly what I need it to. What you show in the video is interesting, and I believe that I can use it in our student written, acted, technical, and produced production. Please message me if you get this message; even to say no I really need help right now.
fumblez00 If you are searching for a projection mapping software, you might want to try HeavyM, it's really easy to use and gives really good results. I know I'm comming a little late but I hope this helps :) Here's the link : www.heavym.net/en/
I utilize multiple video projectors, at least 4 projectors pointed fron 4 different directions. Does mapper have the capability to handle this? My graphics are all scripted before hand so I have 4 sync'n video streams. Will it also provide me with the horse power to project 1024x786 detailed images. The only other option I have right now is to use Datacom's WatchOut which is expensive.
check out the video decription and my other videos, u will need quartz composer which is for free and add a free mapping plugin for quartz composer (either memos or the one from 1024 architecture). otherwise have a look at visual-software like madMapper / arkaos / millumin or resolume - all have integrated mapping functionallity
