This video was shot in 360, so here's a little game. First one to guess all three correctly gets a little prize! 1. What city am I in at 0:15? 2. What does the painting behind me at 0:23 say? 3. What demo reel are Jenn and I watching at 1:30?

My phone(Samsung J7) dosent support 360 videos but it is very informative on whats to come. And i dont always use my phone. Besides not everyone can watch 360 videos

I hate 360 cam video's (what's the point I can only look in one direction at a time so you are effectively choosing to just make a lower res and lower frame rate video, where I will look in the same spot no matter what anyways, or I need to actively follow the action, which is annoying), but this show idea is excellent and I can't wait to see more.

the only way to properly enjoy a 360 video would be with a vr headset and super fast connection so that it loads in 4k so that it looks like 360p at best... or have a room set up with screens all the way around.. its kinda pointless imo

Taryn, I think this idea is cool....but I am a writer for TV, and one of my biggest fears is being replaced by AI. I know they already have an AI that can write a movie...it's too much. That's not what I need AI to do for me

I don't think the movie was very good... so you don't have anything to worry about....for now! I think the reality is that AI will do far better in collaboration with humans when we're talking about creative works. Humans are fantastic at synthesizing. AI, not so much.

360 would be ok, if the quality wasn't so horrifically bad.. I know it says 4k, but it's stretched around 360°, which leaves you with 200p or something in the cone you are viewing it at. Unless youtube allows you to upload 16k or something like it, I'm not a fan.

I totally understand. It's super frustrating for me too! I'm excited for you guys to see these music videos --- when they're built in game engine, the export qualities are REMARKABLY different. Hopefully they'll be easier to watch!

Two downsides of 360 videos: -The whole area you film in has to be camera ready. The old days of your room can be a mess behind the camera are over. Now we can look around and see the mess and dirty clothes thrown in the corner. -Pervs will now be able to stare at whatever part of you that does it for them. If you thought guys just staring at your chest was rude, 360 takes it to a whole other level. 360 has some great applications, but I don't think vlogs are one of them. IMHO.

I think you underestimate the possibilities, while focusing on the negatives a bit much. -Your average Jane might not be able to square away a whole room simply to film in 360, but it doesn't really matter. Even if you do see a mess or people working cameras to film the non-360 version, you get a new form of raw data to understand what it takes to compose such a video yourself, and to learn from it. -Pervs gunna do as pervs gunna do. They can't change anything that isn't there already, or move the camera themselves, and they always had the option to stare at whatever was in view, the view just happens to have widened.

No .. We will not have a choice with new tech reality becoming all around us in an exponential rate. It has already begun. .. it will become a way of life that the older will have to adapt to as the younger create it. Youth of the world today grow up with this technology. They will change our 'reality' and everything we know today within 50 years; then 40; then 30 etc.. as new youth learn the new tech being developed today.. Blockchain is key.

i kind of hope that the 360 thing dies out. in theory it sounds like an amazing idea "be right there" "see it with your own eyes" "no fixed focus blablabla" but (at least for me) it's way too clunky and inconvenient. where am i supposed to look now ... oh guess i missed something.. now i have to rewatch... there is nothing happening around why is this 360.. there is too much happening... all of this paired with pretty shitty quality and i immediately wish the video would ne normal instead

I hear you. It's definitely still early, and we'll see how people use it to explore storytelling differently. My HOPE is that my music video series will be different than anything you've ever seen before (and it's not 360 video, but animation, so the quality will be much better!) Hang in there just a little while longer :) ha!
