This was totally brilliant... I've struggled with constraints previously, to the point I've left Fusion for a few weeks. This wants me to pick it up again now I better understand how the can be influenced. Nice job!
First off, Great first video!!! When the sketch is fully defined, like at 15:42 in the video, a red push pin icon appears next to the sketch name in the browser on the left hand side of the screen. I really like this feature and I often look for this pin when I am drawing to quickly see if my sketch is fully defined. It would be really nice to have the red pin show on the sketch icon in the timeline since this is the area I look at the most during my work, and I usually have my Sketches folder collapsed (or closed...not sure of the terminology) instead of expanded. Since most of my sketches are immediately used for features afterwards, I would be able to quickly see in the timeline if a sketch being used was fully defined without clicking or hovering over any icons.
That is a great idea! I don't see why we couldn't make this happen, but then again I know nothing about software development! haha. Let me see if this exists in ideastation and submit it if not.
Topics that interest me are:: Parameters, where for istance you can set a bevel parameter for all your bevels or sets of bevels and then change them at the end of the modelling stage. Also for using stock thickness; i.e. plywood, if later you change thickness in parameters the drawing updates. This is powerful stuff...
Great live stream even though I caught the recording. We're gearing up some fusion 360 classes at the local makerspace and there are some good tips in here. Thanks
There's a mistake I keep making. And I can't seem to avoid it. And once I've made it, I really struggle to correct it. I will be designing a new thing and start to create components. Then I'll realise that I should have done it in a different order or built up subcomponents. So I try to go back and change the order or move thing around to create subcomponents. And when I do that, I then create more problems and find links broken and other things that make it difficult for me to proceed. So my question... Can you do a tutorial about how to correct bad decisions about the structure of my design and help me to avoid making those mistakes more of the time?
Check out my forgot to create component tip in this video. It will help with this a bit. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BipcmKB_Nms.html
Love fusion . Start with the off line ver . got the 3d cad bug at 16 and now all my stuff i learn is by video and fusion 360 at age 52 It is a hobby for me. I say How am i going to do that in fusion and go for it till i make it work. Ow still have a copy of it too. Off line.
Great tips, I didnt know most of them! I still have trouble with some basic things like making multiple copies of a certain sketch or object. I know that the 'copy' option is only available through the 'move' command, but I don't understand why sometimes this option is not available.
Great job. Focus on beginner students. I'm new to 360. I am newly retired after completing 50 years as a Toolmaker. I have machine parts I need to 3d print. That would be great. Beginner tips are universal in nature, since everyone can benefit. Keep up the nice job.
That would be cool, BUT I think it could also get a bit cumbersome too. That said, if you want it, vote for it in ideastation: forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation/parametric-history-bar-for-each-sketch/idi-p/7112142
I have a question. Maybe one of you can help me. how can i, when drawing a sketch on the xy plane, draw in the same sketch in the z axis? is there a shortcut that i have to press on the keyboard when drawing a line or something like that?
To be honest, because this was our first and we were a tad unsure about the technical logistics, we were trying to keep it somewhat under the radar. As we get better and more comfortable, expect more notice!
PLEASE add a text list of active constraints that is in context with the selected entities. Allowing the user to easily see the constraints and delete them. Highlighting bad constraints, broken constraints, etc. The little graphic bugs make me want to jump off a bridge. I basically have to guess what in the world is happening at any given moment.
I create long assemblies that cant be detailed in "drawings" because Fusion doesn't have a line break feature that Im aware of. What am I missing, or is there a plan to introduce this feature in the future. New video format is cool, but your room is too dark - dont worry about the "technical" glitches; makes you seem like the rest of us that screw stuff up!
That's what the pro, Lars, told us (regarding technical glitches). Everyone was very patient. Re break views, I found this: forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/break-view-for-drawings/td-p/7829438 I agree that we NEED break views, ASAP.
I remember seeing something on this a couple of years ago. Cant complain - I recommend Fusion 360 a couple of times a week to people who like my work - great stuff!
I love the tab views of the new UI view. But what it makes unusable is, that the shortcut menu (s) is now shared between all workspaces. Horrible. Because of this I'm not using the new UI.
@@adskFusion But today the design spaces are separated and I have topic related shortlist. And they are reasonable short. That's gone with the redesign. The shortlist is a terrible long list.
I understand that this can be annoying. I'll check to see if there are plans to organize this in different ways in the future. I imagine it's all tied to the active workspaces, however.
@@adskFusion this S key limitation is annoying. also... No constraints on the sketch pallet kinda sucks. Because most of them are now buried in a sub menu on the ribbon.
That was "GREAT" Las facebook night was great. He did something and people would chat in for help and he would stop and try to help . a 1 hour show. I would like more T-Spline stuff . I am getting sick of going to Rhino for it . You should have it all here and better then Rhino.
Autodesk Fusion 360 Please consider using lights from Light & Motion. You would greatly benefit from the Stella Lights. You'll have great lighting with these lights. :) www.lightandmotion.com/the-perfect-light/on-camera/cinema
