If you're a bearing clearance is too little not enough clearance, then you will have then things will be too tight and you will have problems with the crank possibly even seizing in the engine however, on the flip side of that if you have too much clearance and on the crank and the main bearings too much clearance results in low oil pressure and you will wear out the bearings prematurely and the crank polished surfaces so if your clearance is too big, there's too much clearance. You're going to have to get a bearing that is basically thicker. However, if the bear if the clearance is too little then somebody may have done some machine work on the block and you're looking at possibly having to take the crank out and then have it turned or machined to get the necessary clearances to be correct
It is very important to check your thrust back and forth play on the crankshaft I do it with the crankshaft in the engine block and inspect the thrust surfaces when the crankshaft is out and I did check the thrust clearances I just didn't film it in this video
