Summary: Aaron's mood is increasingly dark and when Steve arrives in the village and wishes him luck for the trial, it's clear he feels he doesn't deserve his best wishes. Once in the court room, Aaron is disinterested as the defence try to demonstrate his closeness with Jackson. When the prosecution try to suggest that Aaron didn't want to be burdened with Jackson, he inadvertently strikes a chord with the jury, suggesting he thinks about Jackson every single day. As Paddy takes to the stand, he states that he'd be proud to be Aaron's dad but his confidence is shaken when he lets slip that Aaron once hit him and apologises later for potentially damaging his case. Chas, Paddy and Rhona worry about Aaron's state of mind when he questions whether he's done the right thing after all.

Aaron was disengaged and indifferent as he gave his testimony - it was like all the fight had left him and he wanted to be punished but it was the moment when he murmured that Jackson was on his mind every single day - you could tell that left an impact on the jury as for a moment they could see the genuine pain he was in and what Jackson meant to him. Also it was heartwarming to hear Paddy speak so affectionately about Aaron - when he said he would be proud to be Aaron's dad, you could see how much that meant to him.

Fantastic acting from Paddy's actor...their relationship always moves me to tears. When he was so humble but at the same time proud to be considered Aaron's dad, I was in tears!

Aaron stays aaron and i would say that is realistic and I love that he's an idiot no matter what I mean he feels like he needs to be punished for something that wasn't exactly his choice

Paddy is so cute. Aaron is so lucky to have him and Adam and Cain❤️ Why isnt Cain standing there? He would have made it right. Poor Aaron... so destroyed

What Paddy said about his relationship with Aaron was so beautiful!!! I love that dude And WOW second hug in a row by Chas! Aaron is in more need than never before. I also love Chas and Hazel together

I loved the scene where Chas went into Paddy's house after Aaron. You could sense her desperation and vulnerability. At that moment she wanted to be whatever Aaron needed, but she didn't know what to do. I found it very realistic and very moving. Good drama! Which I love!

Aaron accepting a hug from Chas at the end can only mean he truly is depressed. And how strange to see Rhona and Cain in a scene together since the two are married in real life.

@atltallone907 I think mainly why he told the truth was because he was under oath, although I agree, legally it never happen because it was never reported but the penalty of lying under oath is jail time so Paddy had no choice but to tell the truth or face the consequence of the outcome for lying under oath.

They have to stop pausing when they've been caught into a corner. Just say "yes", as though it's nothing to care about and get them to move on ASAP. When you pause it just gives people time to prep their ears. >.< And damn you Jackson for not having the objectivity to just sit in your chair and sip from a straw for yourself! Grr... it would have helped so much!!!

@JiminPalmSprings I don't really understand your comment. I think the whole point of a character like Aaron is that he isn't a typical "gay guy." I'm sure there are plenty of gay men out there who don't know a thing about fashion or good hair styling... It's ok not to believe he was a gay character because of his utter lack of chemistry with Jackson, but I don't think his hair has anything to do with this.

@DazedConfused989 Yep :) its supposed to promote equality in the court room so the jury doesnt judge the defendant on how their lawyer looks - which is why they wear the bat-like capes (snape!)

Now I just felt like taking his hair to task as well... haha but thanks for telling me whats ok and not ok to believe....it's always nice receiving an education from strangers....lol

I really don't understand British law. U.S. law is far superior. Alot of the testimony at Aaron's trial would never have been admitted in a U.S. Criminal Court (under U.S. Rules of Evidence) especially Jerry's testimony. Also Aaron's lawyer was pathetic for not objecting to improper evidence. Jackson's last message at the funeral was never used at the trial. It was the most powerful evidence of his "intent to die wit dignity." Aaron's lawyer would be sued for malpractice in the U.S.

How can they claim Aaron wanted Jackson dead when Hazel testified that she was the one who was supose to give him the drug cocktail and he only did it b/c she at last second couldn't and if it was murder how do they explain Jackson's video message, are they just ignoring it.

@yournewsecretcrush Actually - your comment is the only one bordering on anything ... I would say "slander". Considering it was elm2492 that first made the comment typical "gay" guy. All JiminPalmSprings mentioned was the lack of believability in Aaron's hairstyle as a gay guy. And for the record it wasn't homophobic ... just an opinion. Even if you disagree with someone it doesn't give you the right to start throwing around the Homophobic card.

He's not ignorant, he feels guilty. He's also quite obviously mentally ill. Assisting your boyfriend's suicide doesn't do much good for your mental health, and he wants to be punished.
