It's like Beauty and the Beast, The Godfather, and Fifty Shades of Grey had a threesome and the result was a hideous monstrosity that none of them would own up to.

At least in Beuty and the beast cartoon , 1) Bella did it to save her father, 2) she didn't do a thing he said until he started acting kind, and 3) she left him the moment he started acting violent and only returned to help save his life after the wolf attack.

Look. It's not even Stockholm Syndrome at this point. Stockholm Syndrome is in itself a very interesting subject and a whole level of fucked up psychology. Here, she just accepts him after a shopping session where she rolls her ass in front of his nose trying to get his attention becAUSE WHatEVER he's "hot" we're not supposed to think about it! Then she lets him sleep with her bECAUSE wELL idk. Then they shower together bECAUUUUUSE wELL. And she thirst watch him because aBS and a$$. Stockholm Syndrome could sell a "believable" evolution into her "giving in" but it's not even that... For the hot scenes she's 100000% in it, and then twelve seconds later they have to sell the "rebelious woman" thing so she rebels for a hot second, he grabs her by the throat is like "ma, I am not a MoNStER" even tho he mandhandles her through the entire film but he has an italian accent so it's fiNE. It's an incoherent mess.

She had NO choice because her attempts at escaping he stops her and when she tries to go to police they don’t help. And JUST because they didn’t help doesn’t mean what this asshole did wasn’t still illegal. Kidnapping is illegal. She was kidnapped and forced into scenarios she never agreed on. "Settle down. Listen! Listen! It's not that big a deal. I'm just gonna keep you here for a whole year until you fall in love with me." 😂😂😂 Holy shit! In the 80s, as a teenager, I used to read romance novels with this very premise. If a guy tried this fuckery now, I'd fake falling in love, immediately, and then find a way to set him and his f-ing house on fire and laugh while he screamed in agony. I saw this movie pop up on streaming and was disgusted by its story-line. I can't believe women watched this shit.
@Sine782
@Sine782 4 года назад
This movie, sadly, sounds like the bulk of romance novels out there. "A crime boss/pirate/viking/warrior from a rival kingdom/selfish prince/stuffy boss/rude neighbor/alien who looks down on humans (yeah there are novels with that) becomes obsessed with the woman cardboard cut out of the day -- sometimes she has a personality that will be lost over the course of the novel, sometimes she's naive about everything and will be molded by the "alpha". His obsession will be explained as an effect of some bad experience he had: near death, crappy relationship with his mom, conditions to keep kingdom/company, or his anger at her for reminding him of some arbitrary thing (that only he knows about). He's awful to everyone including the female cardboard -- side character to tell him to be nicer is optional. Then by the power of the penis, she sees him like no one else does and somehow it turns out that the disdain they had for each other is love" It's so bad.
@BeautifulEarthJa

As a novel, this was an exploration of frustration many polish women feel in their personal lives (abused, under appreciated). A female author basically writing out her fantasy of spending a year with a stallion. She can’t just leave her husband and her life as in some cultures it’s still really problematic. So she is taken away by force and is imprisoned but realizes she’s been in prison her whole life anyway. And they lived happily... Having said that, as a movie it doesn’t work obviously. But it makes money as a soft porn flick rather than being controversial in a good way, by actually catering to feminists, showing that women in the east don’t have a freedom to escape their situations so they escape in fantasy

But hey hes handsome so he gets away with it. I honestly dont see what is worth to die for in him , like his masculinity isnt so hot to hype over, his accent is a big no (sorry my fellow Italians but this guy represented you terribly) . This review is right on. The reason it is probably #1 on Netflix is the same reason people slow down to look at a car crash. They know is is horrible and shouldn't look at it, but your curiosity makes you want to see how bad it is. I do not think people watched it because they thought it will be good, but because they think it may be the worst movie ever made, and that gets right to the curiosity element.

I dare say, the books are WORSE and MORE insane than the movie sounds. I found short summaries of book two and three, and it just gets weirder. In the second book, Laura gets kidnapped by another mob boss - Nacho- and she falls for HIM. Meanwhile, Massimo looks for her. Oh, and she's pregnant with Massimo's baby. At the end of book 2, Laura gets shot and Massimo has to decide if he should save Laura or the baby. In book three, Laura becomes an alcoholic because of depression due to the loss of her baby and because she misses Nacho, whom she still has feelings for. Massimo dives into his mob work and becomes a drug addict. Laura runs off with Nacho. Massimo and Laura met at a friend's wedding, Massimo frames Nacho for killing Laura's dog, so Laura goes back with Massimo. Laura realizes that Massimo has lied to her about several things and she is trapped. Laura escapes and goes back to Nacho. They flee, get married and she gets pregnant with Nacho's child. It sounds like such a weird/creepy/gross series.

In _365 DNI_ (365 DAYS), a man named Massimo Torricelli sees a woman named Laura Biel during a near-death experience. Thinking that she's his soulmate, he looks for her around the world and, when he finally finds her, he kidnaps her. He tells her that he'll let her go after a year if she hasn't fallen in love with him. No, I didn't skip any parts. This is his plan A. Why doesn't he just woo her? I have no idea. Is he a tortured soul who goes to extreme lengths due to constant rejection? No, he's a good-looking millionaire who can be charming when he wants to. If all of this sounds similar to the 50 SHADES trilogy, wait until you sit through the pointless musical montages that try to hide the lack of plot progression. Christian Grey was a controlling jerk, but even he had his limits. He created a set of rules and followed them (a writing technique to give the illusion that he knew boundaries). The reason why that franchise has so many fans is that the story can seem touching or deplorable depending on the viewer's point of view. Here, Massimo is like a combination between Christian and Jack Hyde (a rapist character created to make Christian look better in comparison). What he does can't be interpreted in any other way than rape and he breaks his own rules all the time. The situation is already uncomfortable to watch, but it's worse due to the sensual atmosphere. You know those fan edits that put scary music in a non-horror movie, to make us see something we couldn't see before? This is why they exist in the first place! In order to make Laura not seem like a victim, she doesn't look that scared at the beginning and, once she "chooses" to go along with all this, they both start playing a game of trying to prove to the people around them who's calling the shots. This doesn't work, because: A) while she may have control of a specific situation, as long as she stays in his house, he'll always have the upper hand; and B) this reinforces the myth that all relationships are about a power struggle. *Spoilers ahead!* At one point, the movie still feels the need to have another guy try to rape Laura in order to make Massimo look better. This one is less attractive and, for the first time since the movie began, she looks really scared. Coincidence? Although the "A woman will instantly fall in love with the man who escues her" trope (used more often in romantic movies than erotic movies) is questionable, it's never been problematic... until now. Massimo saves Laura from drowning and they have consensual sex. From that point on, this becomes a love story. Predictability is usually a flaw, but I'm actually glad that I was able to see this switch coming. Otherwise, the shock and disgust would've been too much to handle. Even the marriage proposal is disturbing. When they wake up, Massimo immediately pops the question and Laura notices that he had already put the ring on her finger while she was asleep. Isn't that a way of saying "We're going to get married no matter what you say"? When talking to her best friend Olga, Laura comes up with all kinds of justifications (for example, calling Massimo an alpha male). Don't worry. Her brain doesn't get injured after all those mental gymnastics. 1/10

I can tell you why easily, 1) for every 3 or 4 woman that is for Me Too you have a woman who doesn't either care or is being a crab about it. And so that leaves millions of women for a potential audience. 2) you have ironic viewers. People who have a morbid curiosity to watch this. Honestly when I saw the beginning of this, when Massimo and his father are shot, on an island, with no visible transportation to get them to a hospital or emergency medical supplies on hand, an interesting twist popped into my head. Let's imagine that the first scene actually took place, but the rest of the film is a scenario like "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" from Massimo's POV. If you keep that mind, then nearly everything afterward makes sense. During his last few moments of life, Massimo indulges in a power fantasy in which he dominates and controls the woman on the beach. She was the honey trap that lured him and consequently his father to the ledge of the roof where a sniper could get a clear shot. It's straight up a revenge and power fantasy in which Massimo can run the business without putting any real effort into it. Everyone is subservient to his wishes and it all just works because he wants it to work. Then there are the parts of the fantasy where things don't go his way and he's betrayed because he can't deny the reality that he and his father WERE betrayed and shot. I know, I know. This movie is the cinematic equivalent of a demon's watery turd and no one should think about it, let alone soil their eyes and brain by watching it. This was just my brain trying to fix what shouldn't exist.

I was blown away because it was an erotic, suggestive tale that takes you on a sick, abusive, violent experience she goes through. I can see why Rice used an alias name. That book makes this movie look like PG. This movie is disturbing in so many ways but the fact their is an audience for this content. What’s happening to society? It’s disturbing in the least.

The fact that a woman like JK Rowling gets witch hunted for a tweet while the women who wrote this shit and fifty shits of grey walk around untouched makes me feel sick. I think women empowerment doesn’t exist and while I laughed my behind off to this video, I am actually very sad to say the least. And I am also terrified at the thought that teenage girls can watch this and form the idea that this is ok, being kidnapped and manhandled is fine as long as he takes you shopping. I can go on till tomorrow but what’s the point? I read the positive reviews from women about this movie and it makes me nauseous.
