The staging on this is a tad bit overdone BUT I’m loving it! It doesn’t quite necessarily look inviting, BUT the house does look “lived in.” This could bring to the attention of a possible buyer the desire and possibility of purchasing the furniture included. It can also work against a possible purchase, making the buyer feel and possibly think, the house is not to their personal taste, and otherwise (I would think that the owner quite possibly has too much emotion invested in the house and would therefore be one of those type owners, who is too arrogant to negotiate a better pricing deal). If I were behind the staging (to sale this particular home), I would remove a lot of those pictures in the halls (especially the ones in the staircases). I would remove some of the extra furniture in particular rooms (those two chairs at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom actually make it look smaller. A nice footboard bench from CB2, which also provides storage for blankets, would look much better). I would also advise you all to slow down this video, so people can actually breath the home in; as interested people watch this video, for the homes possible purchase. Honestly the thing that is most beautiful about the house, is the backyard (and in this video, it’s sad that it’s quite un-attended in the staging of this beautiful home). If this were my staging project, I would have laid out THAT selling point (that beautiful angular backyard, THAT part), with the best of furniture (think Bassett darling, think Bassett). This house will be off the market too soon.
We used to “live” in this property for maybe a good 6 months. It’s a great place without a doubt but this place is more like a bachelors pad than a family house. I have 4 kids and a dog and it wasn’t the best place to raise a family but was a fun place to live at for the time being.
