It got canceled cause when Disney bought Marvel, which is why we’ll likely never get a season 3 (Sony still owns the tv rights for this show).

Disney bought marvel, and this being a Sony production Disney could keep it going or start over with a new spiderman for DisneyXD. Unfortunately it ended with Sony only being able to sell copies and re run the old episodes but never continue it from that point forward. Hence ultimate Spider-Man was born, the shitty Disney rip off staring a child groomer as peter parker

@@cic1470 Well, Marvel Studios and Sony could make a revival. Thry have a good relationship, Marvel Studios is already working on a revival of an old show (90s X-Men), and Sony is already making a series for Disney+ (a Goosebumps show) so that's not gonna be an issue.

Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man was the closest to the Spectacular Spider-Man interpretation. He was funny, and loved to push buttons. I've been a fan of Spider-Man since I was a kid, and inherited my late uncle's vintage comics collection of Spider-Man comics. I started collecting my own in the 90s when Todd McFarlane Co created Venom and Jim Lee brought the X-Men new life, and since then followed with the films. Tobey's Spidey was a disappointment to me when I saw it on the theater, it had good action but no intelligence nor quips. And I saw all of the films to hope that it would improve, but it didn't. All the melodrama heavy stories with the nonsensical "Nerd" Peter Parker was so out of character to me. Then this show finally came out and I was so into it and when Garfield's Spidey came out, I finally saw what I hoped. Tom Holland's Spidey stole what Miles Morales is, it made no sense whatsoever to have a naive Peter Parker that is Tony Stark's pet side kick that denies what he is. As an Alternate Spidey, I accept him, much like Maguire, but I don't see him as Peter Parker perse. Good thing INTO THE SPIDER VERSE (the only Spider-Man movie to win an Oscar) came out and provided the perfect way for people to enjoy their own version Spidey, solidifying that their is not one Spider-Man only and now the film version of this is coming out too. So at least we all can enjoy all of the Spideys no matter who is the actor. A Web of Spider-Men if you will 😁😉

I think Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was the closest to Spectacular Spider-Man, both in terms of Persona and suit design.
