You are good people! Cleaning the island and trying to save the bird was really nice of you. The world needs more people like your family.

Hello again, to my favorite sailing family! Mira, your concern for the bird was so touching, and all of you cleaning up the beach and talking about the effects of plastic on birds, made this great for sharing with others. So, I posted this episode on Facebook something I've never done with a You Tube episode. Big hugs and love to the three of you!

I know the pollution is a major problem and I have seen it first hand. It is now everywhere and unfortunately a growing problem. We can do something about it and one of the biggest steps we can take is by bringing the true nature of the problem to peoples eyes. Through education we can begin to tackle this disaster and begin to make the real changes that are needed. Thank you for doing your part to shed light on this. Cheers Gorgeous dive btw. ^_^

This is one of your best videos. Beautifully done. The breathtaking reef images and wildlife are in sharp contrast to the sadness of the harm that our garbage creates. Many share my sorrow for the poor Booby that died and your effort to clean up a portion of the beach is inspiring. Maya, your narration is one of the highlights of your family's videos but the quality of editing and selection of soundtrack are also impressive. Your family does a fantastic job producing these for us to vicariously join you in your voyage. Thank you. I always look forward to each video you make.

Wow Maya, so good to hear your voice again as well as to see the family Nomadik again. We have missed you guys. Beautiful and touching video. The underwater reefs are like a christmas tree. So many fantastic colours. Such a shame to see innocent bird life suffering due to human litter. Thank you for your clean-up, every bit helps. Stay safe and don't be so scarce. Longing to see you again soon. Much love from South Africa.

Never seen a sea snake on land before. I'm from the island next door and fishing a lot on corals and reef areas and never came across this. AMAZING. I told me dad and he's surprised as well. Great video darl👌👌👌

Which island are you from? Great to read a comment form someone from Fiji! We have seen many sea snakes like this one, but never on land- it was the first time! Then I read that they do need to come out of the sea all the time. Here is some infor from Wikipedia about the banded sea snake (or krait): "It spends much of its time underwater in order to hunt, but returns to land to digest, rest, and reproduce. It has very potent neurotoxic venom which it uses to prey on eels and small fish. Because of their affinity to land, banded sea kraits often encounter humans, but the snakes are not aggressive and only attack when feeling threatened."

Sailing Fata Morgana I'm from an island about 700 miles away from Fiji called Samoa. Only an hr and a half away by plane. We're similar in comparison with climate, ecosystem and way of life. To be completely honest I'm a grown man but I have a phobia of slimy and curly things whether they're snakes eels or lizards. I will just run and run for me life I reckon 😃. .funny how after all them years of accompanying me dad fishing on wooden canoes in the lagoons and the reefs but never came across a sea snake on land even though I saw a few on the water surface. I guess you're right there when you mentioned them surfacing to do their thing and that's great research. ..learned something new today. It's a great video but this snake is killing me 😂. ..I'm walking around the house now and I feel like everything lying around are snakes 😂..even me old man and his fishing life never seen snakes but octopus crawling on rocks

Hi Rajesh, we have moved back in Canada and the last month has been too busy to make videos. We will not be sailing in the near futur, but will still be posting videos from our last travels in Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and New Zealand. Here is some more info in our blog www.thelifenomadik.com/blog/2018/06/11/back-in-canada/

That`s great work you have done there, the environment thanks you! Such a shame to see the birds in such distress, and a high chance that this youngster had eaten something plastic.. it`s life over almost before it had begun. More shameful because this is caused solely by the neglect and disregard of our beautiful unique world by the human race..

Always a pleasure to visit your you tube channel. But also sad to learn about massive pollution and as much as politicians/governments want to control more and more, once they lay claim to a piece of land, and it become a burden, they are absent to help. I am just wondering , maybe time to unite, team up with more people sailing in groups and spread out the various professions among them to assist. Some clean up,some repair and the vets can take care of animals and people--yes, I think vets are miles better to treat people then just GP or doctor.

Sleeping sharks... Obviously my information is flawed because I believe we were told or read that they couldn't ever really stop swimming or they'd actually drown. They were supposedly had to keep the water running through their gills by swimming in order to survive... Your slumbering sharks seem to disprove that idea??? I will say I believe that's the first time I've ever seen anyone show sharks sitting stationary on the bottom.

Here is the answer to this great question Do sharks sleep? from Florida Museum of Natural History "While some species of sharks do need to swim constantly, this is not true for all sharks. Some sharks such as the nurse shark have spiracles that force water across their gills allowing for stationary rest. Sharks do not sleep like humans do, but instead have active and restful periods." So these guys were resting :) here is another link with lots of info about "Sleeping sharks" www.sharksider.com/how-do-sharks-sleep/

Why is there so much trash on the beach. The authorities need to be more strict. They could learn from thr island of Boracay in the Philippines.

Great colors and a wonderful place to dive. I hope your concern for the oceans is contagious. JUst an FYI . Your tanks appear to be backwards. The valve opening should face the back of your head.
