the only problem I see in this video is the tire inflation. the Pats are crown tires that require you to inflate so that you are riding on the center of the tire and not the edges. this would not stop the wear down of the old original Mts however are 'supposed" to make a decent difference in the new MT2s.

I'll be switching to the MT-02 in 2024

No clarification wether these are MT or MT02 versions. Alot of people complaining about these ran/run the MT o.g. version that is way softer for rocks and wears out faster + not enough air psi....34+ psi is mandatory bc its a Hybrid. The MT02 should get x2 mileage over the MT softies. People are getting 25k out of the harder compound MT02 w plenty of tread left. These tires are the lightest of the offroad rubber and are hybrid so they are quiet unlike a flat true mud tire.

My video was posted in July 2021, and the MT-02 was not introduced to the market until November 2021. When I filmed this video I was not aware that Milestar was creating a 2nd Gen version of this tire. I do agree with you though, after moving from 38's to 40's and staying with the Patagonia Gen 1 tires I was very happy with the wear patterns running the tires at 35-36 PSI. And rotation every 5K miles as well.

Yup 35psi seems to be the sweet spot for my rig.

I’m totally with this review. I love my patagonia’s, quite, grippy lightweight. But between only getting about 18,000 to 20,000 miles out of them and the maintenance it takes to get them to wear remotely evenly is too much. I’m definitely going with the Geolander next.

This Fall I will be looking at new rubber. We shall see if there are any new options!

Great video! I too bought my 40" milestars from walmart, they were $220 each at the time, I do really like these tires. On a JKU Rubi they've been Very quiet on the road and im seeing really good longevity so far. Ive got over 23k on them and they're only about halfway worn down in comparison with my spare (hasn't hit the road yet) Ive been running between 23-26 psi on the road. Im in the process of putting UD60's under it, ill probably buy these again even though they're as expensive as any other tire these days. I just wish they would make a 42 now that I have 60's. Great videos, see you on the trail.

I'm getting close to needing to replace them. Probably in the Fall.

Been running the 37s on my Gladiator for only a few thousand miles but really like them. Hoping to get 30000 out of them. Not the best tire I’ve ran but for 200 dollars a piece for 37s totally worth it. Heading out their next week to do a portion of Fordyce since the stupid Jeeper Jamboree has the Rubicon trail closed. Thanks for the great videos on Fordyce looked intense.

Agreed, at $200 a tire they are a no-brainer. Just can't find them for that price now...

Good review! I’ve had these tires on my JKU in a 35 for the last year and had no issues. Recently purchased a Gladiator and swapped the tires over to that. First day of driving it and I’m noticing a lot more tire noise. Have you noticed more tire noise as they wore down? Still has 75% tread left but not sure if I want to hang onto them with the extra noise.
@Blubicon
@Blubicon 2 года назад
I am currently running these in 40" at 35 PSI. Road noise is still quiet, and I am around 14/23 tread depth remaining, so about 70% left.

I may have missed it, but when you say you rotate them "quite often", what exactly does that mean?

I rotate them every month, or 2500 - 3000 miles.

Popularity of this tire is going down , because the price has gone up and other companies are stepping up offering comparable if not better tires for much less.

Can we say lead foot and front end issues !
@Blubicon
@Blubicon 3 года назад
I wheel my jeep hard so I normally check stuff often. The only issue I found that *MAY* have contributed to some bad wear was one of my front shocks was going bad and needed to be replaced. As far as "lead foot" well you need to talk to my wife about that! I'm the slowest grandpa driver out there =) (she says that all the time)

What gear ratio are you running?
@Blubicon
@Blubicon 3 года назад
4.88 right now. Gonna stay there as long as I am on D44 axles because of the extra tooth on the pinion gear. 5.38 once I go D60s.
@paulbarnes667
@paulbarnes667 3 года назад
@@Blubicon you are going to switch to 40s with the 4.88? I am running the exact same as you (38s on 4.88) and have been debating what the switch to 40s would be like keeping the same gears. Already have chromoly gold in the rear and rcv in the front.
@Blubicon
@Blubicon 3 года назад
@@paulbarnes667 Yes I am! 40's going on in about a month. Gonna stay with 4.88 for strength. I am 6-speed manual so I'll probably lose any use of 6th on even the slightest grade lol. But manuals have a 1st gear ratio of 4.46:1 , whereas automatics have a 1st gear ratio of 3.59:1. So off the line I will still be pretty peppy on 40's.
@paulbarnes667
@paulbarnes667 3 года назад
@@Blubicon Sweet. Lets stay in touch. Not too many people are running 4.88 on 40s, so I don't have much to go by when making the switch. Still have some life left on my 38s and I am running an automatic.

With the bad wear pattern did you rotate them often? I have the same tires in 37's and they are not going to last a long time but, they are all wearing evenly as I rotate and balance often. I'm glad you brought up that Yokohama tire. I really like the look and the price is appealing. Any idea on how they wear or last? Thanks
@Blubicon
@Blubicon 3 года назад
I do a 5-tire rotation with every oil change (5K miles). I have seen 37s wear a bit better than 38's. I wonder if C-load 6-ply (38s) vs D-load 8-ply (37's) somehow makes a difference. My buddy Steven is running the Geolanders, and he likes them. Seem to be holding up really well on his daily-driven JKU. He's running 37s.

@@Blubicon Makes sense with the lighter load range of the 38's. Are th 40's the C range also? And let's be honest, you wheeled these tires. I was happy at first with the Pats but won't buy again. I'm a huge Toyo fan but that Yoko has me thinking!

I've watched these tires in Their black label version suck ass on a few big obstacles here in Colorado where BFG red and treps walked the same shit . These tires were cheap when they first got in the market the owner if the brand specifically sold them cheaply to get the name out and gave free sets to all those RU-vidrs pushing them such as litebrite . The tire came to market only because falcon tire wouldn't produce the sizes . I unlike the RU-vidrs who got free tires and had to fork out my own cash for my equipment chose the best that you can get in a Sticky 42 for a 17 wheel... treps....BFG red are top shelf but 42a need a 20 wheel . Never buy stuff that RU-vid channels pimp out there is a big difference from people who get free shit and kick backs for helping to sell shit vs people who pay for what works out of their own pocket .
