@@jeremytanner3724 Well said Brother Rocker !! I feel the same ! I've been playing Guitar since I was 12 . I'm 59 now. Started playing in Cover Bands when I was 17 . I'm from Upstate New York . I look a few years older than I am . So I got away with playing in Clubs and Local Pubs when I was 17 . I've seen a lot of amazing bands like . 38 Special , L. S. , Aerosmith , KISS (I probably shouldn't have mentioned the K band , LoL) , I don't even remember how many because I lived in Long Island and Manhattan and Las Vegas when I kept finding work with my Guitar . Talk about Dreams Coming True !! Me becoming a Pro Studio Musician !! But I definitely worked crazy hard to learn everything about the Guitar that I could . The difference now is , I never had the convenience of RU-vid to help me learn . There were NO HOME COMPUTERS back when I was getting started . I started playing when I was 12 , so I guess that means it was 1977 . And if there were any , my Family sure as shit couldn't afford one . So anyway , with my luck on Guitar I was able to see a lot of the '70 s and '80 s bands live . Oh I forgot one of my favorites , I was able to see REO 5 times . Back then Gary Richrath was one of my favorite Guitarists . Until the first Van Halen Album hit the Earth like THOR'S Hammer . I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe . 😃🎸😃

I saw them when they were just starting out in 1977 at Soldier Field in Chicago , it was 38 Special, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ted Nugent. Damn good show.

We warmed up for for these guys on this day in Augusta, at the fairgrounds, such a great day in 2023. It was us, Tyler Bryant, Duane Betts, the weight band.. I spent a bunch of time talking with, Duane about his dad and the touring, Tyler and I talked about his journey.. he is up and coming and also was just married to Larkin Poe's Rebecca Lovell. We were right by the stage and I remember the huge down pour (short but during there set) but all came back out of the tents and watched these guys tear it up.. SO FUN TO HAVE BEEN PART OF THE DAY! .38 Special is such a great act, great guys! One of my favorite acts of all time, i grew up on these songs!
Was a memorable show for my wife and I. We had 2 umbrellas in the car...and left them there. Glad the rain held off for me to shoot some of the show. True indeed. Would surprise you what it is - it's a Kemper profile of the sound on an original Line 6 POD which was originally meant to replicate the Mesa/Boogie amp rig.
@@robertthomas7239 they used Peavey's in the past for sure. Danny Chauncey is the one who had shared this with me. He was using the Line 6 set up first and Don was using amps - eventually came over to the digital world (Line 6 then Kemper). Today he may have gone back to amps, but as far as I know that's his rig
They’ve always had that chemistry and knew the recipe for making great hits. And at the same time, never lost that southern flavor. Their music crossed over and had longevity because they simply wrote great music. Glad to see them still rocking and sounding great.

I remember seeing them in the bars back in Jacksonville Florida in the mid ‘70’s. The explosion of southern rock was getting into full swing! Don Barnes voice is unmistakable! Barnes, Carlisi and Van Zant were the best! Right up there with Skynyrd (original members).

Prime example of life. The stud of the band still has the energy and passion for the music. The others are likely enjoying retirement but Don is not ready. Good for him. Glad he is still doing what he loves. Definitely not the 38 I have seen on several occasions but respect for him and the band.

When my kids starting dating, i played "Hold on Loosely" for them, It is the anthem that promotes great relationships and my kids never got clingy with their love interest. Great tune, great creed to live by. Amen
Been a pro musician for 40 years. I've been to dozens of concerts. Lost count. In 1983 I saw 38 Special at the Midsouth Coliseum in Memphis, TN. To this day it was the best concert I've ever seen. Energy. Talent. Guitar and vocal perfection. The mix was perfect. Don and Jeff Carlisi tore it up. Donnie Van Zandt sounded terrific. Two drummers in sync. Just the best performance anyone could hope for. The 2nd best sounding concert I ever saw was Steve Miller in '86, followed very closely by Bryan Adams a year later. I love to hear bands that sound as good live as on the records.

He’s taking what they’re giving ‘cause he’s working for a living. Saw .38 at Red Rocks in the 80s still one of the best bands I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen my share of legends in their prime.
