You notice how they rap the last syllable of the ryhme right before the first bar's drum kick and then rap the last syllable after the second bar's drum kick? And then then sandwich the half bar rhymes in between? Those the kind of details I love about rap. Someone needs to put on a clinic and teach these youngins the art of structuring an 8, 12 or 16 bar verse. So many different ways to play with words. It's like fitting a puzzle together. Skills don't sell records but as long as enough cats appreciate it, real rap will carry on.

Thanks for explaining something I had no clue about. To me someone with zero technical skills when it comes to music all I know is that I can tell when songs sound like butter and this is one of them. Benny's verse in particular is like fine wine. Would love to learn more about the technical side. Guess I gotta go learn music 101. Fack.

I didn't explain it very well, but if you learn how to count bars and then listen to where each syllable of a rhyme lands on the beat, you'll be rewinding a two bar rap just to catch everything tied into it. They may not be using big words, but they'll take three, two syllable words and find something that rhymes with all six syllables. And then to add a little extra to it, they'll squeeze different rhymes in between. But there's a ton of ways to shuffle words around and have fun with it.
