As a Last Alliance player, this was an amazing battle report to watch. Thank you to everyone involved for all your hard work in this video. I’m looking forward to the 3000 subscriber special now
They're absolutely my favourite army! We have a few ideas for 3000 points but if you have something you'd like to see, I'd love to hear any suggestions!
I love this idea and we have something similar in the pipeline (currently converting 8 Nazgul between us to make it work!) but it won't be in time for the 3k subs 😁
Ever since I laid my hand on the first rulebook (2001) I have dreamt of this last alliance scanario. Finally someone made it, well not completely to the setup in the book, but close enough. And what a game that was. Fantastic format, brilliant voice over and suberb editing. Well done.
Thanks so much! Yeah it was a dream of ours too! I wonder how many people actually played the original scenario with all metal models as they were back then. Also, had to edit it - no Sauron in the original! 😅
Epic bat rep, genuinely amazing, loved the theme, seeing so many heros and learning how Sauron works. Thanks for doing and looking forward to Nov/Dec for the new batreps. Thanks
1:16:06 You guys did an amazing job with this. The fact that it was a single day/night was almost as impressive as taking down Sauron himself. I know you all put in a ton of effort into painting all those models, editing, and setting aside time to play a game of this magnitude. As a viewer, I loved the kill count between Elves and Numenor. A little game within the game! Very fun, creative and engaging. Appreciate everything you guys do!
Thanks, comments like this really make my day! 😁 It was such a massive effort that we said we'd have to wait at least a year before we did another game that size... but here we are planning our next one to play asap 😂🤦♂️
Simply awesome. Brings back the good old days when I still collected Middle Earth SBG. Would do again but id have to remorgage my house or sell my kids lol
Haha how many kids do you really need is the question..! It really is a great game system, we've been lucky enough to be playing for the whole run so half the money spent on these models was twenty years ago!
Ah brilliant! Hopefully we'll put out a "learn to play" type video in the not too distant future which may be of interest. Glad you enjoyed it, really is a great game system.
@@twotreesgaming he's the champion of click bait these days 😂 you are on to a good thing, keep it up and I'm looking forward to what you publish next 🙂
Thanks for running this battle report so that I don't have to! 😂 it really highlights what a wet fart Sauron is. Such a cool character deserves to have a fearsome presence on the tabletop but he's just so, so bad! Granted it's nigh on impossible to kill the guy but he just doesn't do enough to earn his points. Well done for powering through, I'd have been getting pretty salty at his duel rolls towards the end!
His Duel rolls definitely let him down in this one, a couple of big hits out could have changed things- and fight 9 vs fight 10 really is so much worse, I'd rather have a Balrog!
Wow this is just amazing. I didn’t even think that this was possible but you proved me wrong. On behalf on everyone here keep going, don’t doubt your abilities and strive for absolute perfection and beyond. We will be rooting for your success and support you to the end. I wish you the best 😊
This is absolutly incredible. I cant even imagine how long this took to do but worth it. Hadn't Anárion already been squashed by a rouge rock by this point though :P
Much appreciated! All you need to know is the games are normally a tenth of that size so don't be put off by how long it took! 😂 Hoping to do a beginner friendly tutorial type thing at some point. 😁
It's crazy! Absolutely chuffed to bits with the response - it's got more views than the whole rest of the channel combined! Real life has got in the way a bit so will be a little while but Battle Companies will be coming soon, hopefully worth the wait 😁
I remember when the very first box set for the game came out and out local GW had an event where they asked everyone to bring their painted models from the box so they could set up a massive last alliance battle. The box had goblins with numenoreans which was a bit weird, but it was still a lot of fun.
I remember the set well! Such a weird mix of warriors and troops- that Last Alliance sprue is still a frustration now! Great idea for an event though, we should maybe try that for Pelennor or similar..!
Was great fun, but definitely a slog! 😂 Very excited for the Fellowship campaign myself too, we've put a couple of twists on it that I'm hoping people will enjoy! 😁
I feel your Pain at 11:23 for the 46 Orc models you painted for this "short video footage", but let me tell you, that from a viewer perspective, it looks so amazing and wonderfull to see this full Battlefield with painted models. So really apriciate the hard work you guys put in to this. Awsome Video!
Thank! 😁 Still early days for the channel so they'll be a scattergun of different stuff after a lil break- but there will definitely be more big ones like this! 👌
Fantastic video gents. Absolutely loved it, hats off to you for all of the work that went into that and the 1000 subscribers mark. Looking forward to more in the future! And kudos to the Last Alliance!
Awesome battle report! Glad you guys made it up to 1k Subs! Still love your guys' videos! Unfortunately though, I don't believe Cav models can spear support. I think they have to be infantry to spear support. Can't wait to see your next subscriber special!
D'oh! 🤦♂️ There's was always going to be one mistake in a 75minute video..! This was filmed six months ago and we are getting better at the game so do stick with us with the rules. So glad you're looking forward to it, we have a few good ideas for 3k subs! 😁
@@twotreesgaming excellent got my Mrs with me her 1st ever tournament and will be 3rd game we will have to make a team for the quiz again see you soon ps me neither haha
Hey guys, just discovered (and subbed to) y'all's channel! First of all, absolutely awesome game. Very cool! How long did it take y'all to play a game with that many individual models? Also, I love the way y'all do the video. The circles (stylish circles!) showing where the action is is awesome. I also really like the hero stats with the little card that y'all put up on the screen. And finally, the side bar showing turn number, priority, and kill count was really awesome. All around fantastic, looking forward to watching more of y'all's stuff!
Thanks, was a great game to play! It took us 13 hours!! Don't try this at home! 😂 Thanks for all the nice words and sub, I would add to not get super into the kill counts and use them as a guide rather than hard facts because I sometimes mess them up! 😂
If there is an Argentinian Middle-earth facebook group or similar that you think would want me to drop videos in, feel free to let me know and I'll make sure I do! 😁
awesome battle. as a sauron enjoyer, not quite the ending i wanted, but still an amazing report. as cool as chill soul is, it takes a few turns for it to matter vs multi-wound heroes. i reckon utility spells like sap will, instil fear, and compels give better results. would have killed elrond a couple turns earlier if a transfix denied him strike, and compelling gilgalad away instead of wounding him could have given you wins in some of those endgame duels for examples.
Thanks! And you know what, you're probably right. I will say my orcs died a whole lot quicker than I thought they would so I had less spell casting turns that planned but in the end game in particular that would have been a great shout. I will attempt to defend myself and say that it was my first time using Sauron and having a "delete hero" button is just too tempting 😂
@@twotreesgaming easily done. its a shiny, shiny spell no doubt and can blind you to how useful the others are. dead orcs are the big weakness of barad-dur, 400 point anchor dragging your numbers down so you cant horde. i got so sick of losing by quarter i started running three model lists. actually got a much better win rate now.
Awesome, thanks so much! There will be more stuff going up in the spring, just had a very busy start to the year. We're scattered all over actually but we mostly play in Edinburgh.
First of all congrats for the 1000 subiscribers, you deserve all of them and even more. What an earthpounding game, especially the last turns!! Big games like this are always hard and tiring to play but in the end they give you great satisfaction (Some months ago I played a 3vs3 Helms Deep siege with 6000 points in total and the outcome was undecided until the last turn) Imho I would have focused Gil Galad from the beginning with Chill Soul: his Fight 9 was a real pain in the a.... to deal with XD Instead with Elendil and Gil Galad I would have saved more Might points in the beginning even at the cost to loose the horses. Congratulations again and cheers from Italy
Thank you so much!! Blows my mind that there are people in all different countries watching. I couldn't agree more about Gil-Galad in hindsight. Although, sauron was very unfortunate in the end game to not finish him off! Helms Deep is on the wish list, I'm very jealous! Just need to make one first...
😂 I think we'd still be playing now! But have got the next one all planned out now though and it is more points than this one, looking forward to regretting that 😁👌
Because the one in the book only asks for 72 orcs and we had 240- 13 hours playing was long enough..! We got the idea for the game from the original 2001 scenario from the book with the wraith on the front.
It's Realm of Fire Mousepad mat from DeepCut Studios. Got about five from them and they're all really good but would definitely say the upgrade from cloth to mousepad is a must. We generally buy from Element Games in Manchester - elementgames.co.uk/wargames-and-miniatures/gaming-and-accessories/deep-cut-studios/realm-of-fire-6x4-mousepad If you do, let them know you came from here - don't have an endorsement yet, but wouldn't mind one! :D
😂 It was meant to be movie inspired (although we shouldn't have given the heroes horses!) with a view to upgrading to a book/lore version at some point..!
I think the good army should have all been on foot to keep with the film version! Having them mounted plus all those cavalry units seemed unfair on the poor orcs.
Gil galad being fight 9 just seems overpowered! Sauron can survive but he’s easily immobilised here using strikes etc and being outnumbered. Should have had him in the front lines to chop up troops from the start
What a brilliant epic battle !!!!! Have to say I was really desperate for Sauron to win a combat at the end and do some damage. Great to see you never stopped smiling regardless.
Sauron seems more use as a spell caster than fighter. He’s got attacks and strength etc but just too easily nullified by other heroes and always seems to go battles without doing much damage. Feel he should get a buff to help him win fights. Like even blade roll offs are negated and Sauron wins 1-4 or something. Or maybe a free might point each turn
A free point of might, might make him unkillable. 4 dice are normally enough. And against single heroes, don't bother striking up. Because even if that hero wins the fight, he is not gonna kill Sauron and Sauron can simply squish him as soon as there's no might to strike up again.
Our Sauron was particularly unlucky! Normally you'd get a few swings out and be able to deal some big damage. But I do like the idea of cancelling the elven blade - Gil-Galad doesn't exactly do much damage to him in the lore!
I just started collecting age of sigmar, anyone knows if this kind of last man standing battle is possible over there? i dont like these point holding objectives
I've never actually played Age of Sigmar but I'm sure you could agree with your opponent beforehand - there is something much more satisfying about a good kill 'em all! 😂
I do actually. Been to about six tournament's now - all using very different armies - and found that it's similar players in and around the top but the armies vary quite widely. Sometimes you get a frustrating match up - "kill the most models" and you're playing against Fellowship for example, but on the whole it seems to be much more about player skill than stats.
