39 Hour Overnight Fishing Trip - Hubbard's Marina - December, 2023. Catching Mangrove snappers

Two of my buddies and I went on a 39 hour overnight fishing trip out of Hubbard's Marina located at Johns Pass, Madeira Beach, Florida. It turned out to be a Mangrove snapper trip and Mutton snappers were nowhere to be seen.
Early morning bite was hot, but day bite was awful. Overall, it was a fun trip, but on the expensive side for me (Personal opinion). There are regulars on the boat who catch a lot more than newcomers like me and my buddies, lol so it's probably worth it for them.

Man, 39 hours is basically a week of labor.. can’t get better than this. I can’t wait to retire and spend 40hrs a week fishing Vice working. I wish there was a floating fishing structure built for pay to fish, maybe a quarter of a mile from inshore. I’ve seen one I korea, and pretty awesome. They have a small boat to shuttle you back and forth and there’s a bathroom and food court on it.. it was like $50 for 4-6 hours of fishing…. Some places actually It! Mets around and stock them with live fish, lol

I'm now a Regulars member, and after 2 full years of fishing Hubbard's Marina, I would have recommended that you go in April. Still light loads, but you have a chance to keep Red Grouper also.

You can park in the garage for free with a pass they give you and there are few free spots outside of garage if you get lucky. Thank you for the kind words and tight lines!

I’ve always enjoyed watching your videos. I know it may not be easy, but you gotta try to reserve a trip with gulfstar out of tarpon springs if you’re going for these multi day trips around Tampa area. It’s a little bit more expensive, and they get booked out far out. But, they take less folks and have really nice amenities. Anyways, have a good upcoming holiday, and keep up with the awesome videos❤

@@theanglercrew7059 Happy to share what I managed to pick up along the way! Others did the same for me! Incredible efforts on getting the videos out, far greater reach than traditional word of mouth! I am certain it will be helpful for some fishermen with their approach/decisions, because it certainly did for me🤙

Hey man i go to Hubbards a lot and usually limit at mango and bunch of other fish. Would like to go fish with u during november/decemeber since that’s the month usually when there are few ppl. I don’t do ARS at hubbards since it’s super pack.

@theanglercrew7059 I am only doing their 10hr trips until April, I really like targeting Hogfish in the winter, but I am already scheduled to go on the 39hr on the 5th of April. I like to fish from the bow, so I can slow pitch most of the trip, but you're welcome to join, I can add you anytime

Lol, yea, it’s not for everyone. It’s an experience. Not sure how regulars can afford this trip multiple timed a year. Maybe one day for me. Tight lines!

How long did this take to edit? and when did you go in the year?

It probably took 3 hours? I don’t spend a ton of time on editing videos since I’m not making any $ on them. I went on Dec 8th, 2023. I’d go on it again in the future. 👍🏼

for the price and the haul, I would rather bridge-fish the Keys! the only party boat trip I would consider at this point would be the 72-hour American Patriot

This might have been a mediocre trip for me and my buddies, but probably a spectacular trip for people who knew what they were doing. I would not base it on our catch (We were new on this boat). Some people caught more and some people caught less than us. Tight lines!

The haul is one thing, but the price (when including meal, bait, tips, etc.) is really getting up there. There are split trips for 6 around similar price that runs out close to deep drop range. But minimum, they will hit 70-80 miles out which is around the same range Hubbard 39hrs fish at.

@pathua7692 the difference is that on the private trip you are only allowed a single day limit. Not going to find a trip with 20hrs of fishing for less. Yeah, it's primitive camping accommodations, but I haven't found any other trips that produce the consistent quality that Hubbard's does. They even have a 12hr Extreme for people who don't want to partyboat fish.

@@berrylamberg7186 Gulfstar! I mentioned them in another comment. If you’re talking about multi day limits/20+ fishing hours, I’d take them since they carry less passengers. They may cost a bit more, but there’s no up charge (Meals, fees, taxes, etc.) like Hubbard. Personally, I prefer long single day 6 pack trip that limits out the targeted species if price remains similar.

@pathua7692 yeah, I had a so-so experience with Gulfstar. Not trashing them, but the Hubbard's crew has made me feel like family after my 2nd trip, and the only time I have to share a full boat is during Red Snapper season, the rest of the year is 20-30 fishermen. If I'm looking to just limit out on specific species in a day, thier 12hr extreme gets out to the middle grounds for quality catches. I'll eventually take the time to give Gulfstar another trip, but I'm personally bias to Hubbard's and all their Regulars, as they're now like family and we try to schedule trips together throughout the year.
