That sure is a terrifying fire. Absolutely horrible looking blaze. I hope and pray that gets contained and extinguished soon. You out did yourself with cutting down those trees and getting them prepped for the burn pile. I'm impressed with those cigars too. I sure hope you'll be safe out there.
Hey Mr Dave, great video!. It does suck to see the trees go, but i think you're doing the right thing by following the departments recommendations. I have been and will continue to pray for your protection from the fire. Very cool new cigars, tobacco, and pipe!. The savinelli 624 is a "dream pipe" of mine, seems like they dont make many, and not all of them are cut for filters ( which i have to use ). Hopefully the salt treatment will do its job on the new meerschaum!
Get em chopped! There'll still be plenty past 50ft 😂 Lovely wee savinelli and great baccy purchases. You'll be able to cut yourself a temporary stump seat and have a controlled burn in that briar to enjoy the new views! I take it you've the same boundary to maintain around the guest house?

Good point on assisting the FD Dave, I agree that if a person can't be arsed to assist them why should they put themselves at risk. Prayers that you don't need to go into panic mode that's a whole lot of work you've got through cutting all them trees down as long as your feeling OK and not overdoing it. How can I ask them to risk their life defending my house without doing everything I can to get ready for them? Just not right. I need about 3-4 more good days to get this project finished.

When cutting your wedge, it should only be about 15-20 percent of the diameter of the tree. You will not pinch your chainsaw this way. Glad you and your family are still safe.

@@PiperDave2023 yeah not too much different to hear then, £1450 here. Global cigar prices have been going crazy for a while now due to the Chinese market and their penchant for buying up everything they can cigar and tobacco wise. hopefully it calms down a bit and prices get more reasonable. That said it's unlikely here as all political parties here are wanted to create a smoke free generation so will continue to try price it out of most peoples reach. All that will do though is make more of us rely on the Grey markets .
@@HermitSmoker Exactly! When I speak with brick and mortar folks like Boswell and online folks they all say the Chinese try to buy every single tin, cigar, bulk item they have as they are released. Your import taxes are completely insane - we have not seen that here in the US (yet), and the UK drive to complete abolish smoking is crazy to watch from this side of the pond. I am concerned that other countries are watching with the intent to model it.
@@PiperDave2023 It's a valid concern, I am sure other countries will follow suit after all the uk got the idea from New Zealand although they actually dropped the idea as part of a coalition Government deal. I think there will be a few European countries that will be watching closely, some such as Italy have already banned sale of tobacco products via the internet and you can only buy from Tobacco specialists, not supermarkets, drug stores, gas stations, etc etc.
Balkan sab was my first tobacco when I first started with a pipe when I was was sixteen years of age some 60 years ago it’s changed some but it’s still a great smoke enjoy my friend 👌🦡
