This was written with help from Chat GPT :) In the heart of Wyoming, where the wild winds blow, Lives a man named Dave Hale, who moves steady and slow. A lumberjack’s strength, with his axe by his side, And a pipe full of wisdom, in which he takes pride. Through the pines and the spruce, he carves his own way, With the scent of fresh timber marking his day. His dog by his side, a faithful old friend, Together they work ‘til the day’s journey ends. Dave’s pipe curls smoke like a trail in the sky, As his dog watches close, with a bright, eager eye. Together they labor, in rhythm with the land, A man and his dog, with axe in strong hand. When the day’s work is done, and the firelight gleams, Dave takes a deep puff, as he sinks into dreams. Wyoming’s great forests stretch wide and untamed, But to Dave and his dog, it’s a life well-claimed. The smoke drifts like stories from days long ago, Of hard work and friendship, with embers that glow. In the mountains of pine, where the wild winds wail, Lives the pipe-smoking lumberjack, good ol’ Dave Hale.

@PiperDave2023 42 minutes ago It was nice to have my boys here for three days - they are back in Denver now. I took Sunday off - I was broken and tired. Two more hard days and I should be done with the cutting phase of this project.
Great video Mr Dave. I feel your pain with the tree work. With living in the Florida panhandle, we frequently get hit by big storms, then have to do all kinds of tree work after for weeks on end. Be careful. Looks like you're getting it done!. Great to see a guest appearance by Ranger!

The older we get the thinner our skin gets and easier to cut. I have a friend that is about 20 years older than I am and we used to hunt together and while getting the deer stands he'd always come out bloody. Such is life. 😊😊😊😊 Yeah pulling a tree from the top is hard because the limbs are digging in and in that case digging into the bank.
So true on both points - my skin has always been a problem and thins more each year - I'll be translucent soon. I hate dragging from the top - the opposite of how I should do it, but I don't have the lateral space to turn them. So I break shit doing it backwards. About 7 more to go. I took Sunday off - I was broken and tired. Two more hard days and I should be done with the cutting phase of this project. The fire has been leaking West which is not great, but coming down the valley one valley south of mine. So far so good. I need 3-4 more hard days to get this project under control.
@@PiperDave2023 I'm glad you sensibly gave yourself a rest day, I know it can be hard to do that when it's something as important as what you are doing but you've still got to look after yourself as well as the property.
@@HermitSmoker The thing I am really aware of is how remote I am and that I am here all alone. Can't afford to make bad decisions - no saw accidents! No felling accidents. Keep things slow and steady. Back at it today - I only have 7-8 trees left to drop and then I can start cleaning up the piles.
Aside from being beat up i’m glad you are ok and getting on well with the prep Dave 👍 one of the photographers I watch on here has just had a week in Wyoming so i’ve seen a fleeting bit of Jackson and more of the Tetons amd Yellowstone and it’s beautiful there 👍
Ouch! It looks like you got a hold of the wrong end of that chainsaw, brother! Anna Marie’s probably going to say something like “I told you to be careful!” You are killing the job though! Good on you!

@PiperDave2023 well at least you've broken the back of all that's needed done, I hope your day of rest has helped and your feeling refreshed and that you can now relaxed and enjoy your time in Wyoming All the best Dave.
