Micheal, PVA is an ideal sealer mixed adequately with water as per the type of surface to be textured, maybe a few coats, drying in-between coats, to make the surface less porous once all is dry. Have a great day

Hi, Jose, I am using a texture compound available in the UK The texture brand is shown on the full, 45 minute video tutorial, available for free to watch here on my RU-vid channel (subscribe for creative texturing tutorials and new stuff coming soon) There are similar textures (in that they will enable a practitioner to create desired textured effects onto interior ceilings & walls) available in many countries also Inquire for a drywall texture compound, that one can use to create textures and maybe to prepare ceilings / walls Some texture compounds are available in powder (where water is added then mixed, to create the desired material) Some texture compounds are available ready-mixed (and will sometimes require slight thinning down with water, depending on the desired texture pattern wished to achieve) Some texture type compounds are specifically designed for just preparing ceilings & walls, you know Some texture type compounds also allow for textures to be created (onto a well prepared surface, for slower intricate patterns, such as using texturing comb tools) A good indicator is the time-rate of how quickly or slowly the texture material dries once it is spread onto a well prepared, sealed / primed surface (to take away as much background porosity prior to laying on texture). Say in a layer thickness depending on the pattern strives to achieve Some texture (or I should say filler type materials) are specifically designed to allow good thickness for filling and is activated to set fast, once mixed & applied Ideal for such ceiling / wall preparation jobs I refer to texture materials in this comment, because the compound is almost off whitish or slight greyish (and not pink or brown) A practitioner would seek out the material that can be used to create patterns and has a slow dry / absorption rate once applied to ceiling / wall Best for creating intricate textures Make sure tools can be obtained, lookreadlearn.com + availability of desired texturing compound in your location A bit of experimentation on a sample wall may be required testing to find suitable material (+ availability) Creating each textured ceiling medallion I run the comb through the same applied material on occasions, and the texture does not seem to drag at all This amazing spectacle is down to a few factors The area being textured is well sealed; diminishing as much porosity by slowing the dry-off rate (sucking the moisture (water) from the texture compared, to, if it was not sealed) The texture material I am using is pliable and designed for creating intricate comb textures The room being textured is reasonably cool in temperature There are no hot water central heating pipes under the ceiling And I had a cracking mug of tea before I even started Thanks for commenting Have a great day
