What does it mean when I can switch? So one minute I can see the hallow side and the next a normal mask being spun. I can see it from two perspectives.

It shifts for me. Sometimes I see a face on both sides, sometimes I see the hollow back as it is. What’s up with my brain, lol

In some of the other videos where shadows aren't obvious I simply cannot see the concave shape when hte mask is on hte reverse side.

Okay, so I've looked at this video so many times that I can no longer see it as convex. I only see it as concave. Especially this version because the pictures is so high quality.....has this happened to anyone else?

Hum... I can simply by focusing on the nose "base".

Another thing... the concave and convex shape are moving in opposite directions. Something I've noticed when the "illusion" comes and goes.

:P vision researching has nothing to do with the proposed "indoctrination". Now, I am assuming that you are religious. He actually should have given credit to The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, who pointed out this sort of thing. Indoctrination seems to be a harsh word for it, and it will continue to be, for as long as you are religious. He was truly just pointing out how the mind sees what it wants to see, and if you are religiously based, you will tend to see God in more things.
