wonderful, wonderful... you cannot not imagine how many loosie-goosy thread videos i have watched just to see to make real in detail threads from the recommended threads spec chart... because a pretty drawing is nice.. however, for 3D-printers and cnc mills you need the real deal... now for a tapered 1/4"-18--5000 psi NPT pipe thread male to female... thanks a lot...:)
I am glad I am not the only one who doesn't' know what "Create-cross reference" means. You do an excellent job and give so many tips (like selecting the side of the cylinder to make both chamfers). Very much appreciated. And as another commentator said, know I know what the shape binder does! Look forward to learning more.
great video series. people like you help advance humanity in a meaningful way. learning cad as someone who has mastered cgi programs, cad is really unorthodox in the methodology that ive established habits for from blender and 3ds max. thank you for keeping this open source and not behind a payed tutorial session which many cgi artist have done usually with horrible practices that go aganist standard practices yet they somehow deemed their work as having monetary value...
Hey Mitri! Thank you so much for watching my video, I really appreciate it 😀 I think keeping the tutorials free is the best way to get more people into the software, as well as building a community that can contribute and improve it in the long run 😀
Can you please do a video to explain the necessity to create new and base body objects. I get very strange errors with these objects when trying to edit from them or add to them.
I know Freecad has a fastener workbench. I want to learn this technique as well. I have cut perfect actual threads on a lathe before. You created a horizontal line 2.5mm below the part. That number is not critical so long as you drop the Helix the same. Is that correct? Also, I understand where the .216 radius comes from in accordance with ISO, however in my personal experience the cutting tip was ground to a point. The question is, had you not put that radius on the triangle, will you still get a functional thread?
Better than someone taking forever to get to the point. I'd much rather watch a section twice because I missed something than sit through someone going on and on and never getting there.
@@JohnWinquist I agree, It's fast but to the point. Serves more info in 10 min than others in 30!!. Also, it's youtube, you can always pause and rewind!
