Time lapse of desiccant containers for the AMS (the thing that holds the spools on top).
The desiccant is used to soak up the moisture from the filament to keep it dry. Dry filament makes for a better print.
The desiccant will change color when it is ""full"". You can them dry it in a low oven and reuse it.
Printed in Polymaker Matte Orange PLA.

The cantilever piece is especially satisfying!

Been on the fence about this thing for a while. Was thinking about waiting for a larger version but seeing that ABS print so smooth I'm doubting waiting. I've used abs for years and while I can get it to print well on my UpMini2 and my F400, it's NEVER been that dimensionally accurate. Much less come off a build plate like that.

The heated bed, auto leveling, and heated enclosure (X1E) I think has made a difference. This is my first printer - I over researched for years until Bambu X1C came out. Almost bought it, then they released X1E. I wanted tougher prints than PLA, and thought I wanted ABS...then I discovered polycarbonate (PC)!! Currently having ABS bed adhesion issues. Many failed print videos to come.

@@TooManyHobbiesNotEnoughTime Vision Miner and a few other companies make different liquids specifically for holding down different plastics. I'd prefer to find a surface that doesn't need such things, but sometimes it is worth it just to not have to keep having failed prints trying to get it all tuned in. I use Aquanet hairspray on the textured PEI as well as the engineering plate with anything that is having bed adhesion issues, and it usually works for me, but I rarely do huge parts. Also when printing ABS or ASA (which I prefer to abs), it's worth getting the chamber up to temp for 10-20 minutes or more before printing, and letting it slowly cool down after printing can help with warping and layer delamination. To the person thinking about getting one. I ended up getting the X1C about 5 months ago, and am so glad I finally went for it. It's been long enough that most "new tech" issues that always exist with new products, have been worked out. I can't wait for a bigger one, but may also wait quite a while after it comes out so I don't have to go through all the "early adopter" pains. I've had 3D printers in my home for over 15 years. I don't want to ever go back to any of the other printers I own, and in fact have not even ran one print on any of them since I got the Bambu Labs X1C. Like any 3D printer, you will run into issues here and there, but it is light years beyond the experience I've had with any other printer.

Any advices on printing desiccant trays for AMS in ABS? What profile settings you used? What temps, what fan speed for overhangs, any other changes? On my try of printing those trays with ABS, that upper tray sholder, where those thin ribs that are already at 45deg angle, angle even flatter, start to warp up a lot prior connecting to other side, and nozzle smears filament to sides

I'm new to 3D printing - you may need to incorporate removable supports. What model are you using? Curious to see what you found. Drop a link here. THANKS!

@@TooManyHobbiesNotEnoughTime I mean, what slicer profile you selected in Bambu studio or Orca slicer, generic ABS or Bambu ABS (or some custom calibrated filament profile), if(and which) changes you did when you were slicing/printing your trays (eg. those mentioned support related settings or any others that you might have changed from defaults)?

Prusa XL 5 head is the Juggernaut right now.. Multi tool heads are far more superior than AMS 💯

I do like that option. I'm not really using the AMS for multicolor or multi-material, so it is a bit of a waste. I do like the auto witch over when I run out of filament though. XL may be next machine.

Standard Bambu settings. I did just realize that I was using the "X1C" settings instead of the "X1E"... I just started playing with quality settings. Stay tuned!
