Do you think you can make an inverted iris shutter? The shutter would be on the outside instead of inside. It should be like a circle which can increase and decrease it's diameter
I would imagine getting that top screwing on using 3D sodtware is the hardest part. Unless you made everything else to fit this round thing you already had. Lemme know...
I'd say the screw on part was probably the easiest part to make. Getting the blades of the iris to be the right size took a while, but after that it was a simple housing I made around it. The modeling software I used (Fusion 360) has pre-defined threads that made it easy to design the screws.
@@MacEstelle I can order a spool of clear filament (amzn.to/2Tza4jo). The material will be PETG and it will only be relatively clear. 3D printing will not be able to make a completely clear print. It will look a little clouded. If you are okay with that, what would you pay me for making the mechanical iris for you? @@SouzouMaker I'm thinking about using carbon fibre for blades, 3d printing for housing and a solenoid for actuation. Will need a timing IC and circuit.
