Timelapse of 3D printing and painting Spider Man Miles Morales and SpiderMan 2099 from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Movie from Sony and Marvel. Resin figure printed on the Elegoo Saturn 2.

Paints used to complete the resin statue were a mix of vallejo acrylic paints, Army Painter Speed paints, Vallejo Xpress colors and Citadel Contrast Paints. These paints are popular among the slapchop painting method where it is a variation on zenithal speed painting.
The Iwata eclipse airbrush was also used to create smooth blends and glazes for this concept art.

NICE! That lighting was just the right accent of color that made it all pop! I was thinking that adding a shot of webbing (perhaps using rubber cement or glue gun stretching) to give the impression that Miles caught him in one eye would have been a nice touch...still, fantastic as always.

Damn! U out did yourself this time! Very nice touch on the colors to light him up! Aldo love the LED lights! This was just all around awesome! I got chills when the lights lit up even bigger ones when u turn them on in dark! Dude I'm just lost in words :p

I have seen people do wonders with filament printers, but I heard it takes a lot of tweaking to make it print high quality for figures and statues. If you mainly want to print collectible statues, I would highly suggest a resin printer.

Sure, here you go: amzn.to/3s6hP7g (affiliate link, I get a small commission at no additional cost to you) You would also need a a battery to power them up. Those LEDs are 12V but I used a 9V battery holder and it works just fine.

This is amazing! I have never used a 3D printer but how long does one bottle of Elegoo ABS like resin last? (i.e. how many statues can you print with it?) P.S. Love the idea that you can paint these printed statues yourself. Are these 3D-printed statues heavy?

If you print simple 1/6 scale models, a 1kg bottle could probably get you 3-4 statues. If you hollow your models, you’ll save on resin and also make them lighter too

All models before printing needs to go through a slicer, a program that prepares the 3D model for printing.

How did you and how much time did it take to fill from the supports and keep the texture? Still very nice work!

I don’t really fill the support points unless it is on a spot where it’s very apparent. I orient the models in a way so that I put supports on spots where you usually don’t see. Like under the feet, on the back etc.

@@mr.culinan3583 I suggest checking out @Groundeffected where he dives into support settings. Yes, there are divots after removing supports. Sanding is required.
