More tools, which you can 3D print. My 3D Printing times are slower, because I use timelapse settings.

Okay! Those drawers are AWESOME! I want to borrow that idea, but make the drawers so they have cutouts for tools! Thank you for sharing these projects.

Thank you for actually talking in this video!!! I watch way to many "usefull 3de prints" videos and i hate it how no one ever talks in them... Plus these prints are actually pretty useful too! looking forward to seeing more ;)

It's good to hear you like it. Talking in videos is a new thing for me and English is not my native language, so it's little bit difficult to find the right words and pronounce them correctly. Also thanks for watching!

anything that turns fasteners, or is for prying should be printed with much much more infill or more perimeters

For the protractor I don’t really know why you need to pause the print to insert the nut. It would do perfectly fine press fit after it is printed, or you could probably use a threaded insert.

This stripper (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rbFzWOcB3TA.html is supposed to be used differently - you press wire to appropriate position and then make a turn of the stripper using your index finger in the ring.

Are these actually useful? They just seem like printed replacements for common tools. They seem worse to use, weaker and less precise than the tools they are trying to replicate.

3D printing summed up pretty well tbh

What's wrong with the sand paper holder and the sanding block? These things cost pennies to print. There better designs out there for things like sanding blocks sure. And even those are typically cheaper to make than to buy a standards one. The main purpose of 3d printing is to make things exactly how you want them. So of you see something wrong with these designs, make a better design yourself.
@conorstewart2214
@conorstewart2214 Год назад
@@ge2719 if you have an actual need for them then sure print them, but you can use almost anything as a sanding block and typically you will need a few different kinds. The sanding block is one of the more useful things from this video. Also how long will it actually last? If you use a sanding block a lot then you should get a better one, if you just need it occasionally or suddenly find yourself in need of one then you can improvise rather than wait hours for one to print. It is generally better and quicker to buy one or use a lump of wood or something else for one than to print one. Part of printing is recognizing what is worth printing. I see better options than this so why would I make a better design myself?
@conorstewart2214

@@decline1129 for most of what you see about 3D printing that is true. Most people with a printer overuse it, part of being good at design is knowing what manufacturing method to use. Some things do well 3D printed, like complex, unique designs. A block to wrap a bit of sandpaper round is not a good fit for 3D printing. You would have better results with a piece of wood and maybe a knife, saw and sandpaper to shape it if you feel like it. Considering how cheap you can get these tools you are better buying them, if you used them a lot then you would buy better ones not 3D print them. If you don't already have a sanding block and suddenly realise you need one are you really going to wait like 6+ hours to print one? Or are you going to find a bit of scrap wood and use that instead? Printing these tools generally isn't a spontaneous thing, it generally requires planning and rather than looking for the model and printing it you could order it online or go to a shop. I have printed quite a few functional prints but I only print when there aren't better options, like with a drone frame, it is injected molded ABS, it is stronger and cheaper to order from AliExpress and wait for shipping that it is to print my own, printing camera mounts can covers for components is a better option and often the only way to get it the way you want and that is what I do. For a robot arm I am going to build, although I could print the arms, the arms will consist of 1515 aluminium extrusion and 3D printed brackets. The aluminium is just a beam the brackets are complex parts with gears. I could print the beams but it would only be weaker, it may be lighter but aluminium is light enough anyway and then to change the arm length I don't need to print new beams, just cut the aluminium ones. Part of printing is knowing when and what to print, that is a part that most people seem to miss, especially with models that consist mainly as a flat plate, you could save a lot of time making it out of plywood or a metal or plastic sheet vs printing it. You see all over the place things people have printed and they mention the struggles they had and the ways around them but the whole thing would have been easier and better with a different technique. It's almost like when most people get a printer they think it's the only manufacturing technique in existence.

@@conorstewart2214 tl;Dr, if it's plastic on a commercial product it's probably fine 3d printed.
