Uh-oh, once Joel goes down the 3D printed Ghostbusters props rabbit hole there's no turning back 😅 I guess he'll start with the Q-pack MK4 (open source 3D printed Proton Pack files), maybe combined with the Chris Bosh welded upgrade parts. Then why not add a trap printed with Sean Charlesworth's files, or maybe even upgrade to the TacoBelli trap. And then a 3D printed MSHDesignStudio PKE meter, maybe one of Quentin's printed belt gizmo's and Motorola MT500 radios, a MSHDesignStudio Motorola holster with the texture modelled into the files, printed leg hose connector, maybe a LifeGard II. And then you'll want a radio controlled RTV, maybe some Ghostbusters 2 tripod traps, a Gigameter... Ghostbusters props have cost me so much filament since I got into 3D printing, and I have zero regrets 😂 (Working on my fourth Proton Pack right now)

I just started printing out armor from House of the dragons. It’s the kings guard armor. So far I have the arm gauntlets and most of the helmet. I’m doing it on an ender 3 V2. So I had to make each arm in 2 pieces and the helmet in 8 pieces. The helmet has so much detail that I had to cut it in places that I’m worried I just can’t make it look nice. I’m using armor smith to make sure everything fits. I went through and did as many measurements as I can and had to change a lot of the stuff from the first time you have to put in the measurements. The parts where they just guessed the measurement was way off. So I had to do a lot of adjustments. But so far it’s been working perfectly and everything so far has been fitting. I’m gonna do the shoulders next after the helmet. Then I want to do the chest. I’m a bit on the chubby side. So it’s gonna be a lot of trial and error on the chest. Hopefully I won’t have to change it too much. Also trying to figure out a way to put all the pieces together that would be easy to put on and take off. Also the model has a belt you can print out but I’m just gonna buy a sword belt online and print out the emblem that goes on it. Much easier and would look better.

That all came out just beautifully. Excellent work Joel & Galactic Armory! I do admit that I'm kinda wondering why this wasn't a leather project though. The plastic plates won't have any kind of flex, and will be likely to break if she tried to actually move around too much while wearing them. She needs the printed pieces for a great display, and then leather to wear!

I wish good 3d scanning would come down in price it is so cool what can be done with good references to work from. That said i have wondered but never tried with thin parts like those for this armor if one could get stronger parts with less waste by printing the part flattened and then heat forming it to the desired shape by hand or using a printed form if multiple are needed similar to vacuum forming. There would be distortions from the stretching and compression of the part but hopefully it wouldn’t be too bad with thin parts.
