A RU-vid follower requested me if I could replicate a 3D square diamond pattern.
I show in this video one way to approach these high relief diamond designs.
Actually, it is time consuming the way I did it. Hopefully, somebody else would show us a faster and easier way to do it.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it and find it useful!
Cesar

Thank you so much. I just got a Pfaff about 2 months ago that someone threw out. Cleaned it, oiled it and now I'm learning how to use it. I went on RU-vid to see how to thread the machine, and your channel was my 1st choice. I subscribed and now you are my teacher. I have a pleather couch and chairs and I think I'm going to try uholster them with new fabric. Again, thank you. By the way, I am a sheet metal worker, so instead of sewing, we spot weld or use other fastening methods but not threads lol. Its almost alike to me.

DearArtur, Great you already have a sewing machine. Upholstery is a full of entertainment artcraft to kill time or get some pennies to our pockets if we are devoted to provide service. Something similar happens to me because I am a mechanic specialized in hydraulic presses. I enjoyed a lot when I deal with irons, grease, oil, etc.

@Cechaflo 3 года назад
Hi Lynn, Thanks so much for kind remarks! I used a sharpened knige to cut the squares. i first marked with a pen over the foam. A youtube fan asked me if I could do this design. I personally would not do it on a seat cover. Too many sewings weaken the leather material. I think it is more decorative. Besides, it is labor intensive. In the next video, I will show another way of doing the same with no much sewings on top faster and simpler. Best wishes!

@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 3 года назад

@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 3 года назад
@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 3 года назад

2 questions. Do you ever use transferrable patterns to save time? Do you ever use glue applicators to save time? I personally do not like brushing on glue. I have never done upholstery work other than headliner repair and steering wheel repair so these questions do not come from a position of authority. I like your videos.
@Cechaflo
@Cechaflo 3 года назад
Transferrable patterns are of great help. Leather Seats. com has most of these useful patterns for sale. Besides, they have an excellent channel of first quality jobs. You are right! glue sprayers would ease and make the process faster. I would not recommend this design for car seat covers. I would like this design for door panels. Too much sewings on top weaken the leather material. That is the case of seat covers that suffer a daily rubbing. A RU-vid fan asked me if I could reproduce this pattern. I think there are other ways to do it which could be faster and easier, but the problem is no much people is eager to show us.
