Thanks that is very kind! I am working on it but it takes me about 10 hours per video. I do a lot of research and analysis of past papers to write the questions and the animating, recording and editing takes a while too. Hopefully one day I will have everything covered.

I like that you mentioned to wait until the end to round. I've seen a number of other math channels not adhere to that idea. It always bugs me, as I always try to keep amounts as exact as possible until the end (inverse trig functions are particularly annoying in these cases, as there often are no "exact" amounts other than the trig expression itself), so my solutions come out slightly different. This can make it more difficult to verify I got the right answer, especially if I came about it via a different method than the instructor...
@1stClassMaths
@1stClassMaths 2 месяца назад
Yes that is premature rounding and they shouldn't be doing that!

it's always the wordings that catches me off, I know how to calculate the angle EGH (for example), but if the question were to ask me to calculate the angle between EF and the base ABCD, I wouldn't know what to do. Could you make a video on that please? 👍Thanks!

I would say drawing out/shading the bases and lines your talking about would help you visualise it. Just connect the letters they say. You got this

I think you can help me. This is the challenge. Given a 20 foot container needs to be lifted from the bottom corners and the angle at the top must be at 90 angle between diagonal chains (where the chain bends inwards) to the middle center of the container. What is the length of the chains, or just one chain, since it will be symmetrical? Container dimensions. L 6.06m H 2.59m W 2.44m

When working out length of AG my math teacher taught me a cheat. Just do root 9^2+8^2+20^2 and u will get 23.3. Works for any diagnol length. However would u get all the marks in an exam like working out marks?
@1stClassMaths

Can we use formula d^2 = a^2 + b^2 + c^2 for 3D pythagoras? Does the mark scheme allow it for edxcel GCSE? Do we still get full marks for correct answer?

If you didn’t use the full value of EA on Q5 for the last part would you loose the mark
@1stClassMaths
@1stClassMaths 2 месяца назад
Possibly. Sometimes exam boards give a random of answers to it might need to be between 2 set values. The best, most accurate and safest thing you can do though is not round until the end.

if you were given the base length in example 6, lets say for example it was 10cm. could you draw a line from M to the midpoint of CD and use pythagoras to find your perpendicular height using 15 as the slant height and 5 as your base height since M to the midpoint of CD would be half your base height which would be 5?
@1stClassMaths
@1stClassMaths Месяц назад
I am afraid that would not work. The length from E to your new point at the middle of CD would not be 15. Look at the triangle EDC and you can see that your line goes right down the middle splitting it into two right-angled triangles. This means the hypotenuse is 15 but your line would be the height and not the same length. Hope that makes some sense! Basically it isn't 15 all the way around the pyramid.
@obama7828
