Creating a 3D visualization of a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) in ArcGIS Pro involves several steps, especially if you want to incorporate a hillshade effect. Here's a general guide on how to achieve this:
1. Import DEM: First, import your DEM into ArcGIS Pro. Make sure the DEM is in a format supported by ArcGIS (such as .tif).
2. Create Hillshade: Use the "Hillshade" tool from the "Raster Functions" tab to create a hillshade layer from your DEM. Adjust the parameters as needed to achieve the desired lighting effect.
3. Add Hillshade to Map: Once the hillshade is created, add it to your map along with the original DEM layer.
4. Set up 3D Scene: Switch to the "View" tab and select "Local Scene" to create a 3D view. Adjust the camera angle and extent as desired.
5. Add Layers to 3D Scene: Drag and drop both the DEM layer and the hillshade layer from the map view to the 3D scene view.
6. Adjust Layer Properties: In the 3D scene view, you can adjust the properties of each layer to fine-tune their appearance. For example, you can adjust the transparency of the hillshade layer to blend it with the DEM.
7. Visualize in 3D: Explore the 3D visualization by navigating the scene using the navigation tools provided in the 3D view.
By following these steps, you should be able to create a compelling 3D visualization of your DEM with a hillshade effect in ArcGIS Pro.

Hello, thank you for this video. Do you know how I can export this new 3d DEM model to the 3D layer group of the contents area? I am trying something similar and my goal is to export the complete model to ArcGIS online. I am not sure if I need to create a scene layer package or not.
