I'd say your sphere is not defined as a static rigid body. It's part of the 3DS Max scene, but not part of the MassFX simulation.

Check that you have enough segments in your plane and ensure that the sphere is set to collision object in MassFX.

At the top of the screen there is animation button, then mass fx, maybe it is there

This issue (is it truly issue?) was solved by setting Gravirt Scale parametr below 1 (like 0,1, for example). Guess this could happen because one must set some right collision parametres to sphere (but not sure, I'm just learning).

Hi Monya, check that you have enough segments on both the plane and sphere. The software is looking for geometry to work with. Yes play around with your settings and see what works for you.
