3DTechDraw (3DTech) Shop Tour! Laurens Wijnschenk walks us through what is lovingly called their "hobby shop." The reason? They still get to do what they love! Laurens's brother, Jasper, started a modeling/design service that has evolved into a full-on machine shop despite their initial lack of knowledge in the industry. The success of 3DTech is a testament to their willingness to learn AND their ability to push the limits of software and machine tools! An amazing shop with some impressive Okuma and Doosan CNC machines!

What a fantastic tour, these guys are such an inspiration to all, being self tort and just making things work because there is a possibility that it just can be done then proving that it is doable is beyond amazing, just by watching this video gives you inspiration to putting your own ideas into reality, it is a true credit to these guys, they seen an opportunity and just went with, I’ve always said a company is only as good as there employees and seeing and hearing how the interaction is between everyone meaning that everyone stops and has a break together, a coffee and a get together before work starts goes a long way to a happy work environment and that’s the major thing in my eyes, absolute credit the these guys and John thank you for taking the time to bring this to us, Matty🇦🇺

As another person who is a self taught machinist/engineer I really enjoyed this video. The enthusiasm is infectious. I was planning to expand my business this year but unfortunately I've lost confidence in my country and it's economy. The UK, I believe has permanently destroyed it's manufacturing base via the incredibly destructive brexit disaster and the double whammy covid 19 has brought. I'm very sad as I had planned on buying a VF6 and had been spending lots of time and energy preparing. Sad but I believe manufacturing here in the UK is now dead and gone. 😔

Wow I'm jealous of that control on the multi task machine! I wish I had that control on my Mazak Intergrex. My machine was built in 2006. That kind of control wasn't available in 13 years ago. Very nice shop. Do you see the difference in a shop set up by someone without a traditional machining background from one who does?
@nyccnc
@nyccnc 5 лет назад
1) It's crazy to think that 2006 was 13 years ago 2) Great question - yes, absolutely - but not so much a "lack of traditional machining background" and more the fact that they started from scratch (with focus on CNC) and thus there isn't any "collecting" of older tools and the proverbial "Junk drawers"

It doesn't have as nice a conversational side as your Mazak I believe. Yet there is a solution that cover that too and that is the Siemens control. I know that Doosan with a Siemens on the SMX has the collision avoidance and fantastic conversational side.
