@@Lilygirl283 Youngsters! I'm 68.5...I've been listening to 'serious' music since 1967, from straightforward rock, to progressive rock, to jazz/rock fusion, and finally, I have found my Nirvana (NO...not them!)... Nightwish.
Oh man, with the symphony crescendo and the camera take of the curved horizon being showered with the fireworks, it gave me a feeling like every living creature heard that at the one moment. Like the energy went all around the Earth.
The phrase at the end - "We were here" - it makes sense now? I think it is so so sad that Nightwish is classified as Metal because it scares potential listeners away from them. I have asked a couple of friends at work if they know about NW and they all say "No, Metal is not my thing. Rock is my kind of music". But I have hatched a sinister plan. I am working nights over the coming weekend, so in some mysterious way (wont say how 😁) I will bang in a full Concert in a USB memory, I'll chuck it in in the tv in the Canteen at work, set it up on endless repeat and then hide the tv remote somewhere, the icebox in the fridge maybe... Cheers / B.
I’ve watched this before, and came back to watch it today. My boyfriend died in an instant in January. Our days are truly numbered, and we don’t know when that number is. So this hit me harder than the first time, and your comment is what we ALL need to hear. All I think of is all the little things that we should have paid more attention too. Even grief is proof you are still alive. So ty 😊
Saw this concert more than hundred times. I didnt had the luck and the honor to be there to experience this musical masterpiece live, but: Nightwish surely is the greatest band on earth. They open our eyes, they are very successful and always stayed on the ground, they have a great connection with their fans and what you see and hear: They LOVE what they do, every single second! Love to Finland for that massive load of emotions! Nightwish
That WAS the best thing I've ever seen, live. I was crying my eyes out at the end of that concert, whole gig was out of this world. I felt (and still feel) to be the luckiest person alive being able to witness something this beautiful. I just hope we will get live music back on out lives soon ❤️
Brace yourself. This is the answer to P&P. Tuomas has come so far in his musical explorations, he has left the emotions that inspired the P&P work behind. THIS is the work that comes out of joy, wonder, science, education, observation, ( remember, until he was shanghaied by Metallica he was going to be a biologist) . Other pieces lead up to this; Shudder, Alpenglow, Wilds, Walden, EFMB...he was building up to this for years. And after THIS piece, he comes out with Human:II: Nature, and you realize that THIS piece was just an introduction to Human:II:Nature. Oh, coils within coils!
Hey Sandra, thank you very much for watching live and sharing the information. Mindblowing thinking of the time, effort, knowledge and passion that has gone into this. Looking forward to hearing Human:II: Nature! Cheers. :)
@@ThomFoolery1 Funny thing is Floor also wanted become a biologist when she was a little girl and later in Ayreon project "The Source" she was one of the 11 vocalists Arjen called to make it happen and each had a role in the story and hers was "the biologist"
To me The most powerful line is "Man he had a dream to understand a single grain of sand" With all our knowledge we still have so much to learn and we still dont fully understand Even a grain of sand. That sure puts us in our place 😍😍😍
After releasing their Album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" Nightwish got an unexpected honour. They published on their Facebook the following news. My Sincere congratulations to Nightwish Band and to the Master himself, Tuomas Holopainen 🤘👏🇫🇮 ”One new crab species (Tanidromites nightwishorum) was named after us in honor in particular for our 2015 album, ’Endless Forms Most Beautiful’, about the evolution of life. The new species of crab was found in eastern Austria and lived during the late part of the Jurassic period, around 150 million years ago. While dinosaurs dominated the land, parts of Europe were covered by a warm, shallow sea full of life. Tanidromites nightwishorum was discovered in a fossil coral reef. Crab diversity and abundance exploded for the very first time in their evolutionary history during the Late Jurassic in central Europe. Thanks to Dr. Adiel A. Klompmaker and his colleagues for this truly fantastic honour (Adiel is curator of palaeontology, Alabama Museum of Natural History).
"It is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here. We priviledged few who won the lottery of birth against all odds... how dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred." --- Professor Richard Dawkins
yeah i have watched this song maybe 40-50 times and always get teary eyed in the ending. The lottery of birth is literally my life's motto. I'm alive everything else is a bonus.
Tuomas composes all songs including lyrics. He also writes all orchestral and choir arrangements which are prerecorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of London Choir at Angel Recording Studios, London, under his direction. Marko contributes a small percentage in songwriting and lyrics but only in a few songs. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘
Well, it seems he composes the themes and general melodies for the orchestral parts, records them in instrumental demos, and then consults Pip Williams about how to arrange them for an orchestra and a choir. Pip does enough work regarding this that he could be called a "7th bandmember," for example in this one he created the horror-like soundscape in the start of the 3rd part behind Floor's haunting vocals (the red scene) and there was a lot for him to do in the 4th part too. Pip also wrote the orchestral middle part in Ghost Love Score, mostly of course he's doing just arrangements and adjustments regarding the orchestral production in close cooperation with Tuomas.
Every single time I watch this TampereLive I feel deep gratitude and joy for what Tuomas has written and the band delivers. Nightwish gives us philosophy, musical creativity, and multitalented persons on one stage. They have the charisma to take the audience.
Really great reaction. Love watching the emotions you went through during this performance. I've watched more than 100 reactions to this song and go through those emotions each and every time, including tears. Tuomas is a once in a lifetime pure musical genius. I often wonder how someone who is blessed, or cursed, with his amazing creativity for music can turn it all off to have a good night's sleep. The classical master composer, Gustav Mahler, once said his creative juices were never at rest and very often it was a burden to bare. Wonder if Tuomas has to deal with that. I consider both men to be legendary titans in the musical composition world. Thanks for doing this performance justice in your reaction. Ron
Hi Ron, thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I can understand why this was an important one to react to. It is really out of this world and it's hard to Fathom how Tuomas is so talented, to say the least. Cheers Ron, see you in the next one. 😃🤘
Returning to your reaction in my day off after crazy weeks at work. Enjoyed it so much again. Bursting out in laughter after your "Kytos to you!" 😂😂. Thanks brother. What an epic reaction on this epic band. 🎉❤
Good on you for taking the time to understand what the subject matter is before listening. It's so important. Thank you for joining our journey as well. It's appreciated whenever someone new hops on the ride. The more the better!
Out of body experience. Yes. All the time. Nightwish is pure transcendence. I love to watch NW creations with you. Keep up the good work. You feel like a brother to me. Same love for the best music possible made by humans on Earth.
"all the evolution on earth coming to this one moment" - exactly. We were here to witness this Masterpiece that nightwish is along with everything else humankind has been and will be able to create until we must close our eyes again.
Hi thomas, 4 times i watched your reaction to this epic song and i did not know how to comment. I feel that it is not enough but i still don 't know so hear it is; great reaction to an epic song, performed by an epic band. Thanks😊
Hey there! Thank you very much. That makes me so happy that you enjoyed this and watched it multiple times. It's such an unbelievable song and performance. 😀🤘
This song hit me hard in the feels when I listened it for the first time from cd, and it only got better after seeing this live version. Just lovely saga of The Earth ❤️
Great reaction. Glad you stayed to the end. It is a ver deep song. The voice overs make you think. The music takes you on a journey. The vocals tell a great evolution story. The We Were Here ending is so powerful bringing me to tears. Glad to see your reaction.
Thanks a lot Paul! So glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the combination of the voice over, the music and the performance is really so special. Thanks for watching. 😀
Hi mate There is a version of this with lyrics which may help you sort the time line ! Also the wembley version has richard dawkins on stage with them 🤘
I always smile when Floor says enter life so sexy....Yes I love Nightwish more from year to year, maybe because of finally the best fitting bandmembers, maybe because my view on life and the universe we all live in is better now being 57 years old . Best music for heart and soul by my alltime favourite band ...Great reaction Thomas...thx for your time, work and enthusiasm
Hello there, thanks very much for the comment. That is very understandable and so cool that the band has had such a good influence on you. I've been aware of Nightwish for a long time but I'm glad to be getting into them properly now that I'm a bit older and understand the depth of their music. I see myself listening to their music and appreciating new things for the rest of my life. Thanks for watching and take care. :)
it´s nice to see how you enjoy of this song!! I´ve heard this maybe 300 times and still love it! and this is not just a song this is a masterpiece of music!!Take care and be safe;and greetings from Nightwishland!
Hi This song us beautiful and I like it when she smiles while singing. Kai on the drums killed it also. Floor's voice is just another instrument. Floor Marco qnd Troy are the growls.
The band's performance made me cry but what got me was your honest, heartfelt summary at the end. I found myself close to tears then. It made me enjoy the song even more and when I listen to it again I will be mindful of what you said. Awesome. Peace & love.
Hey Andy, thank you very much your comment. That really means so much to hear that. I'm honoured that my video would add to the enjoyment of this incredible performance. Cheers man, take care. :)
You experienced every emotion. Your face said it all, you felt every emotion...... We all have the same reaction, Tuomas planned it that way - Music & Life unites us all!
No, you're right Thomas, Tuomas writes it all, lyrics in his second language too, he is a genius. Ioa Kouts has done a brilliant job with the lyrics in here, allow me to submit my take on it which will likely be a parallel in many places. I think like you, a great deal of us were and are moved by this work, thanks for the reaction. In three bits as YT won't take it in one go!
Oh dude, "The Poet and the Pendulum" is going to melt your brain (and you'll probably need tissues at some point, I know I will because watching you get emotional in turn makes ME emotional, and I've been listening to this band for... ugh, way too many years to admit to it in public). Also, how is it possible that a song this long seems to be so short?
this song is like piece of art and if there museum to songs, this should be a main wall :) what a wonderful day when work is done and there is glass of good whiskey and nightwish masterpiece get in earphones. great reaction and congratulations 3k and always nice to see and hear your reactions. awesome day there and lest go to the weekend.
Thank you very much yes, it was a fine combination of things, I was very happy with how it all turned out. Thanks again and hope you enjoy the rest of your week/weekend :D
Watched this a hundred times, and loved your reaction. I so much prefer facial expressions and emotion over endless talking, and also your acknowledgement of Dawkins, and your interpretation of this masterpiece.
Wonderful reaction! Yes, prof. Dawkins recorded especially for nightwish, if you watch the version from Wembley, you can see prof.Dawkins at the end of the greatest show. You probably have to look at this a couple of times to see and hear everything! Keep on reacting to Nightwish, greetings from the Netherlands 🙂
I hit the like-button already with the Laphroaig... good taste in Whisky. ;-) The music is beyond words. Just a beautiful journey through time and evolution which makes my heart swell each time I listen to it. medicine for the soul, it makes you appreciate all life and the universe around us. Your reaction to this song is one of the most emotional and appropriate I have seen so far and absolutely what this song deserves. Thank you, it was a joy!
Haha thank you! I'll have to bring the Whiskey more often! 😂 Thanks for the kind words. You've described it very well. It really is like a medicine. Everyone should watch this at least once. Glad you enjoyed the reaction! Take care. 😃🤘
Thomas, this is the best song Nightwish has written / played. No matter how many times I have listened / seen it, it takes you to a whole other level. I can see that it does a lot with you too, but there is no other way with Nightwish. Keep up the good work👍🇳🇱 ....and yes, “ this is the most beautiful thing you ever seen “
Hello Thomas I can feel for you. I get tears in my eyes every time during the intro and at the end. The song is a masterpiece, simply epic. It is in no way inferior to great classical works. In my opinion Tuomas Holopainen is the Mozart of rock / metal. Go on with your channel, Greetings from Germany
Danke schoen Der! I agree, it is hard to find the right words to describe. I want more people to hear this song and be inspired by it. Tuomas is a metal Mozart indeed. Thanks and stay safe! :)
What a fantastic reaction ,I love the way you are speechles about wat you here and see, you need to here this song more then once to understand al the details in it💗
@@ThomFoolery1 Maybe save this one for your 4K milestone. Assuming you have done the Poet by the. Need to be seated for this one "Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem - Live In Aires 2018 - Decades Tour" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S8E3L7ggLMM.html
Great reaction again I'm glad that you enjoy them as much as we do Keep on going Greetings from the Dutch The growl was Floor not Marko bye the way haha
love the sound of those welsh pipes that troy can play very well and the layers of colors Finnish heavy metal infused with symphonic elements well done again top notch performance rhythm section that drummer the beat doesn't get away from that guy such a wizard kinda reminds me of the female drummer Luanna Dametto wizard for the Brazilian death metal band from Sao Paulo band called Crypta and their sophomore effort shades of sorrow
