I guess the reason that large portions of Allentown have not burnt down over the last 125 years or so, is the fact that the majority of the homes built from the 1880 through 1950's, the main growth years, are all built with brick. The 3 story, 1809 sq ft home, where I was raised in during the late 1940's, was built in1905 built and is still standing. It has served as a home for many generations of Allentownians for over 116 years and will likely do so for many more generations.
I'm just curious what happens in that situation. Do they use a reserve engine or just reassign the crew to other companies? I don't know what company staffing is in Allentown.
