Gilbert Gottfried is dead? 😮 When people get mad about race swapping in movies I always use him as the example of a race swap I want to see with him playing Shaft, real talk.
Yo KT I was mid teens and this is a part of that early rap scene that could never be done again. Always remenicing those times. So many amazing rappers, djs. Who knew DOOM would come from that. What a Legend ! One of a kind
He challenged MC Hammer to a dance off, Serch probably would of won because he can actually dance but its also just funny to watch because you dont expect it.
You must be white. Serch was a terrible dancer. He has absolutely no rhythm to his movements. He is a fucking cartoon. He is like the perfect stereotype of a white guy thinking he’s black. His rapping was awful as well. He was nothing more then a gimmick. A fucking joke.
Rest In Peace my brother Gilbert Gottfried. I’m sorry fot giving you a hard time on ninth Avenue in Manhattan years ago. I don’t know what possessed me to mess with you back then but I’m glad it became a footnote to recall you by. I regret your early passing and us not meeting on a level plane. Later bro.
They should get more than the gas face because they are beyond awful. Much of today’s rap and hip-hop is vomit-inducing torture that makes me angry that it exists. It should be all burnt and banned.
I'm 52 yrs old and this track still sounds dope as it did in '89! I used to bump this track hard in my Aiwa walkman! It was hard to listen to this track and stand still!😂 All of mumble rap gets the BIG GAS FACE!!😜😜😜
I don't think he was poor....there are middle class neighborhoods in Brooklyn...like Flatbush, my cousin lived there...some parts of Bed Stuy are actually townhouses....not housing projects and this is going back to the 80's!
I was 10 when this song came out. I remember when I saw it on Video Music box. I said wow these guys are dope. Pete Nice always seemed mad laid back with his cane and cigar.
I really wish hip hop went back to sounding like this. Its so hard to listen to today. If we didn't have 3rd bass, we wouldn't have some of the legendary rappers that we have had.
RIP to MF Doom and Gilbert Gottfried. Plus, the extra 👍 for the 50 or so before my comment, that came from me. Y'all were quick on the draw. I'll back and leave more👍 for the comments after mines to pay homage to these greats.
hip hop was so much fun back then...I swear I was born 15 years late(I been living in the south Bronx most of my 35 years but i wish I coulda been born in 1970 to grow up with hip hop)...this is still one of my all time favorite hip hop videos... with some great lyrics by all 3(I swear I think mc serch is a black man born in a white dudes body, to this day I still haven't heard many verses that put negativity attached to black to shame like his verse did, together with Pete's confidence and a smooth verse from Zev)...and the cameos yo heh heh...Gilbert Gottfried is still funny to me to this day..I remember not knowing most of the people they were giving gas faces too when I was a kid. Rest Peacefully to Subroc and Zev Love X(MF Doom)..crazy he was gone two months before we found out but at least it seems he got some respect when he passed...more than I thought he would've got being underground all his career but he deserved every bit of it and more..that scene with Gil is probably what happened with NWA and Jerry Heller...i hope u resting peacefully Gil
I thought my tape got stolen but they were borrowing it to go cop some Ganja off the street. Hollywood. I learned that you never smoke with anyone who doesn't put in and you gotta dis the homies and hang with the fly brothas. Homies get the GAS FACE!
Flavor, EPMD, DMC, Russell Simmons, Gilbert Godfried, KMD/DOOM, Prince Paul, Kid, Doug E Doug all in this video. RIP to Doom and Sub Roc......I grew up without cable, so now that I am an old man, RU-vid gives me another way to enjoy the music....
MC Serch of 3rd Bass- ''A lot of my writing was focused on being a complete lyricist, like, not only going through braggadocious stuff but being able to tell eloquent stories and do story-type writing. That’s what I came up with." the entire golden age of rap helped make this, to conserve the true hiphop: dopewisdom.com
Shout out to Mc Hammer, the hardest soft rapper that made all the tough street rappers shiver and apologize..Not like these mumble rappers that wanna shoot cz u tell them their breath stink
