I have really enjoyed these videos, I had to navigate nd try and find the order, but enjoyed every one. Thanks for sharing and glad I have had chance to watch it 9 years later! I really liked being able to see all those beautiful towns and villages too. Thanks
All the way up to the wedding cake, I considered Mayci the clear winners. Brilliant job guys!! I only wish I could visit Birmingham and try your masterpieces!
David and Remy, you put up a valiant fight! I’m sure I would have been throwing a tantrum over the inferior ovens that you had to use, but you soldiered on. The wedding cake was bad luck for you, but it was a magnificent idea. Well done you guys! I would love to visit your bakery and try all your exquisite pastries, but unfortunately I live in Australia, so it will just be something to dream about. 🥰
As one who has made many wedding cakes, I had to wonder if the British use dowels to support the tiers of a stacked cake. Surely they must. Also, is it traditional for English wedding cakes to be covered and decorated with fondant? Piping roses would be faster, tastier, and allow for more variation in color. Nonetheless, congratulations to the winners and the runners up. I would love to visit each shop, especially Maison Mayci.
The couple loved the Maison Mayci cake and then the judge pronounces it to be dry. Not to mention that she also said they had never made a wedding cake before - neither had the others (the father of the winners had) but she didn't feel the need to share that. Not saying the winners didn't deserve it but . . .
Interesting that the winners were truly my choice all the way through! I, of course, could only go by what I saw & heard, but the wedding cake clenched it for this gal! Congratulations six plus years later! God bless you both & your business always!
One thing I don't get. The couple asked for a pink cake of an unusual shape and lots of flowers - and they chose the traditionally shaped, white cake with a few flowers on top? 🤔 Would have been so beautiful with pale pink petals, I think!
