1st and 3rd gen 4Runners, a JK and XJ run through Calico Mountain. It was my first time going up there, and instantly became one of my favorites. We started out on Odessa Trail and then connected over to Doran Scenic Loop.

I think its because the UK is known for mostly economy cars. Here in the US. We mostly get big ass SUVs.

@@Opt.Offroad My part-time job is at an automotive paint store where we sell Raptor Liner. We've had a few customers buy it to paint the outside. Our latest was someone using it on a Unimog and tinting it olive green

shaun morgan yeah manual transmissions make rock crawling more challenging. Unless you dual stick/crawl box it of course

@@Opt.Offroad I'm looking to buy a manual 3rd gen, and am nervous, as a newish 4x4'er for my first run with it, but that's why you practice, right?

Yeah practice helps, but coming from a guy who drove only stickshifts for over a decade, I would not recommend a manual trans for an offroad truck. Unless it’s going to be for mild wheeling (which would still be fun) or if you plan on doing a full crawler build with dual cases/crawl box etc... but a manual trans with stock transfer case won’t be fun for actual rock crawling. Just my .02

shaun morgan sounds good, a manual trans would definitely be fun in that case 🤙🏼
